Point makes both foul shots to go back up by 10 and Jackets come down and turn it over. Point scores again on a putback now down by 12 but Jackets come back and score to cut it to 10 63-53 with 1:34 to go.

Point hits 2 free throws and with 1:22 to go Jackets on the line hit 1of 2 to make it 65-54. Point now at the line. It looks to be all over for the Yellowjackets.

Foul parade continues but Yellowjackets called for intentional foul and the Point player makes the basket on the play. Gets 2 foul shots and the ball. Score now 72-57.

Stevens Point defeats Randolph Macon 72-60.

Congratulations to both the Quakers and the Yellow Jackets.  Playing all the way into the Final Four is definitely an accomplishment .... and for the ODAC to be represented well by TWO teams is indicative of how strong the conference has been this year!

2010 -  The best basketball ever played in the ODAC.

A shame neither team won tonight (especially since I had Guilford winning the who shebang ;)), but TWO teams in the Final Four is not exactly chopped liver!  IMO, the ODAC had arguably the best single season ANY conference has ever had.

Perhaps too painful a subject to bring up so soon, but with Sanborn, Henson, and Bonner all graduating, how far do you see Guilford falling?  Are they still a legitimate threat, or are they toast for a couple of years?

Here's a quick overview of significant team changes for next year:

Guilford is losing Sanborn, Henson, and Bonner.
Randolph-Macon has no significant losses from their Final Four team!
EMU loses Twine, but has no other significant losses from their Elite Eight team!
VWC loses 1st-teamer Stephen Fields.
Hampden-Sydney is losing King and Mudd.
Washington & Lee loses Goestsch & White.
Lynchburg loses Echols and Mendez.
Bridgewater is losing their top 3 players, including Trawick.
Randolph loses Rutschman.
Roanoke is losing Kendrick Chittock.
Emory & Henry loses Dyson.

Preseason favorites have got to be RANDOLPH-MACON and EMU.

And I'm expecting Guilford, Virginia Wesleyan, Hampden-Sydney, and Washington and Lee to all come back strong in 2010-2011.

A three point team - Williams - against a strong defensive team - UWSP - should we a good one tomorrow.  Cong to ODAC representatives - great season for them and league overall - until next year

Heck of a year by the ODAC getting two teams to Salem.  I didn't get a chance to follow the Williams/Guilford game but it looked like that was a battle and after Point jumped out to a big first half lead, Randy Mac didn't back down and cut it to single digits in the last few minutes.  These are two good ball clubs that shouldn't view their semi-final losses as failures but as very successful seasons.

Great season ODAC! See you next fall.

Congratulations to Williams.  They're a great shooting team.  Guilford fans are quite disappointed, but c'est la vie.  We were up 46-35 in the 2nd, but WC absolutely couldn't miss from three-point range, hitting 10 of 14 in the 2nd and 16 of 28 for the game.  We kept thinking if they would ever cool off, even a tad, we'd pull it out.  The game was closer than the 9-point margin would indicate as we had to foul in the last minute and the Ephs hit all eight FTs.   Thank you, Quakers, for a most memorable year!

Congratulations also to the UW-SP Pointers.  I stayed until halftime and you look like a fine team.  My thanks as well and kudos to R-MC, for making this a doubly memorable ODAC season.  Thanks guys!

Go Quakers!!!  Go Jackets!!!

Hey Yellow Jackets, Guess what, The Sun came up!!!  Very nice 2010 Basketball season. I am sure Coach will shore-up the few holes(weekness') and come back stinging come November. Thanks for the fun this season.

Congrats to the winners and to the ones who only made the Final 4, not the final!  The ODAC really represented small college hoops well this year and we can't wait to get back to it in Nov.  We're so proud of the way the Jackets fought back when contesting a school so much bigger (in more ways than one, lol) and getting to within 8 in the 2nd 1/2.  Adam Desgain, a sophomore, led the scoring for R-MC, and that's definitely a good sign for the future.

Guilford was right in it until the last minute... way to play guys-- we thought you had it.  Congrats especially to your seniors on their fine careers and best wishes to them for the future.  Go Quakers!!

R-MC is not graduating any starters but the 2 men who are graduating are a big part of the team.  We thank them for their deep commitment & wish them much continued success in life.

Special kudos to big #10, Kevin Voelkel who made the NCAA Elite 88 by virtue of his grades.  No small feat in Ashland, especially for a first team athlete.  GO JACKETS!!!!

Hoopstermom:  where were you?  Seating was so spread out we may have missed you there & sorry about that.

Was so good to see the Jackets' football team & women's basketball team members there last night, along w/as many students as could miss night 1 of Spring Break.  Also several R-MC coaches, many R-MC staff members & lots of player & coach family members in attendance with alums.

You all know who you are; we hope you know how much your support is appreciated, especially by alums.

We probably had the smallest crowd of all 4 last night, but hope our team felt the pride & support!
