Cardinal guy

Same Josh Merkel who punched an opposing coach in the face after a game when he was a player at Salisbury? Hope he's gotten his issues under control.

I kno its a while away before the season but any news on the recruiting trail. Who has landed who and what teams need to bring in the most people? I hear guilfords class is shaping up to be great and i know macon and sydney will have great classes. any news on my marlins or the runnin royals? being a VWC alumni and being able to watch them win the national championship, last years team has many of the same qualities as the marlins did the year before they won the nationa title.

The only two I officially know for Guilford are 6'0" shooting G Saegan Hilliard of Asheboro (NC) and 6'7" F/C Omer Atishkin of the American Hebrew Academy (AHA) in Greensboro.  Hilliard had great junior and senior seasons for the Blue Comets and already knows Josh Pittman and Brad Monroe.  Atishkin's an Israeli citizen who transferred to AHA his Senior season in order to get playing time and visibility in the USA - I know he led the Eagles to a rare winning season and put up over 30 a couple of times.

If anyone knows of others, I'd appreciate hearing about them.  Thanks.

sydney has a 6'6 kid from the 757 coming. Heard he turned down offers from longwood and howard. Should be a steal for the tigers. Just wondering how they are able to give kids full scholarships to play basketball

They will say that he is getting a full scholarship to go to college and he may play ball if he wants to.....This is, after all, Division III.

Joseph McManus of High Point is the 3rd player (of whom I'm aware) to commit to the Quakers, joining Saegan Hilliard and Omer Atishkin.

Jon Lineberry's the 4th player (of whom I'm aware) to commit to Guilford.  Good luck to Jon, Saegan, Omer and Joseph!

Ryan Phillips makes five - welcome to Guilford!  Ryan's profile says he's 6'4", 170, so hopefully he can gain a little weight and bulk up some in college.  Unless his game's mostly outside, he'd probably take his lumps going inside.

From the Richmond Times-Dispatch:

Lee-Davis basketball players Chris Cook and Justin Naumann have made college choices. Cook, a 5-9 senior who led the Capital District in scoring (20.5 ppg), is headed to Randolph-Macon College. He was a first-team all-Capital District selection and scored 777 points in two seasons. Naumann (6-4 forward) will play at Lynchburg College. He averaged 9.4 points this season.

It's good to see names and bios presented for this year's ODAC recruiting classes - keep them coming!  Thanks

seems like the marlins have added a couple of good players. DJ Woodmore from landstown and Aaron Clark from Tallwood. ounds like DJ is a heck of a player and should come in and make an impact in the ODAC right away..

It looks like Page Moir has had a good recruiting season to restock the roster.  Top recruits include:

Ethan Humphries-- 5'10  - James River - Class A Player of the Year leading James River to State title. Averaged 11 points and 6 assists. His team was 100-12 with him as the starting point guard for 4 years.  He was first team All-Timesland and named "Player of the Game" in State Championship game

Clay Lacy-6'3" – Cave Spring - First team all state AA, leading team to 2 straight state championships. Averaged 17 points per game and 8 rebounds per game.  He also was a first team All-Timesland and named "Player of the Game" in State Championship game

Jack Hamilton- 6'4" – St. Stephen's Two time First team All IAC for 2 seasons, scoring over 1000 point in a  4 year varsity career. He averaged 14 points and 9 rebounds per game.

Andrew Daniels-6'2" – Oakton - MVP of the Concord District Tournament AAA, leading Oakton to first district tournament championship since 1972. He averaged 16 points per game.

Colby Shorter-6'4" – Rockbridge – Led Timesland area in 3 point %, averaging 14 points per game and shooting 51% from 3.

Page has several more coming, but I don't have information available.  I will post bios when when available.  I'll keep my fingers crossed about a big man.
