I'm with you WooHoops. As a W&L grad from the late 90s, winning seasons are cherished regardless of how they happen. This seems to be working for us and I'm thrilled coach feels he has deep enough talent to keep running guys out there. I remember a few years where the drop off was really bad and our record showed it. 9-2, with both losses by 2 pts, is pretty impressive for us. Here's hoping for a nice run in ODAC play and a run in the ODAC tourney like the women had last year!

Happy New Year everyone!

The Jackets have a tough test tonight at Randolph.  Hopefully, the Jackets will play "together" and get the job done.  GO JACKETS!!!

Congrats to all the ODAC winners during the holidays!

(Personally, we'd like to see more substitutions of the sophomores and freshmen for R-MC.  With 7 seniors and only 2 juniors, these younger guys really need more floor time this season; BUT... we completely trust the coaches to make these decisions for the program.)

Happy New Year to everyone.  There are certainly a lot of big games tonight:

Eastern Mennonite @ Washington & Lee.  The Runnin' Royals beat Ferrum; the Generals didn't.  However, the Generals have beat both Emory and Guilford ..... so can they pull off an upset and beat EMU at home tonight?

Lynchburg @ Bridgewater
.  I'm betting on the Hornets, simply because the Eagles have done nothing to impress me yet this season.

Randolph-Macon @ Randolph
.  It's hard to bet against either of these teams, especially since Randolph is playing on their wacky home court.  Nevertheless, I'd guess that the Yellow Jackets will come away with a victory.

Emory & Henry @ Guilford.  A Quaker loss at home tonight would be the biggest upset of the evening.

Hampden-Sydney @ Virginia Wesleyan.  How can anyone bet against the Marlins at this point in the season, with their undefeated record and #3 national ranking?

On the other hand, the Marlins have, to this point in the season, only ONE win against a really solid opponent .... and that was the 2-point victory at Randolph-Macon, which was certainly a very impressive victory.  The Tigers have beaten the Marlins in other games in recent years (both in Fleet Gymnasium and at the Beach during the 2008-09 season) and they lost by a mere 2 points at VWC last year.  The Tigers come into tonight's game with 7 wins, losing only to DI Elon University, #10 Eastern Mennonite, and the Randolph Wildcats so far this season, and I think anything could happen.

Classic trap game for us; should be a fun one.  The Wildcats have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
