Baselinejam - Dean Smith subs to create frenentic defense and careful ball control offense, but Hutchinson subs because he likes mind games or a kid does not deserve to start?  Curious how you reached that conclusion.  Couldn't it be that Hutchinson wants to create frenetic defense and careful ball control offense as well (the stats indicate that these are both central to the Generals gameplan in recent seasons).

I've seen them play about 50 times in the past 8 years. I think I have an informed opinion. You've combined two of my recent posts. Please use the quotes if you wish to accurately attribute something to me. I also said "Heck I hope it keeps working. Still when your 2nd 5 avg. over 16.5 minutes - you least have to admit that's unusual." It isn't as unusual as when E&H ran players in an out like a ice hockey team. Deano's Blue team got less than 5 minutes a game. Big difference between that & 16.5.

I wish the Gennies continued success. IMO a shorter bench would be more effective.  ;)

If you make every game a life and death proposition, you're going to have problems. For one thing, you'll be dead a lot. Dean Smith

I think that ANYONE going into Lexington to play W&L better eat their Wheaties!! It used to be a not so hard "W", but as we Jackets have found out the last few years.....It Ain't So EZ anymore!!Using alot or a few players the W&L program deserves recognition for stepping it up a notch or two the last few years!! Congrats to the Gennies.........and I hope we don't catch them on a bad shooting night for us...... ;).....in Lexington OR in Crenshaw!!

It was his first post. Might cut him some slack as he learns to use the board.

Didn't get to make it to RMC for the game   :'( but just heard that VWC survived an upset bid by Randolph, beating the Wildcats 53-50 after Pete Hamilton missed a 3 to tie it. The higher the rank, the bigger the target on their backs... I hope these young guys understand that.

A very, very good Randolph team gave the Marlins almost more than they could handle.  The Marlins are a very thankful team tonight pulling out a slim 3 point victory 53-50.    Congratulations also to RMC and Guilford  on their victories tonight .

IMO what a few of us are trying to say is that now days there are to many teams going to deep into the bench. If you have the horses thats ok. The discussion has been mainly about two teams, W+L and R-MC.
Now this is ONLY MY OPINION. Having seen R-MC, W+L and VWC play this is what I see, R-MC goes nine deep before a drop in talent, W+L goes 8 deep before a drop in talent, and VWC goes 9or10 deep before a drop in talent.  This is not saying that the other players should not play. But that perhaps are getting to many minutes. Old school????? Maybe!!! but that is my OPINION.

Guilford put a pretty thorough beating on the Eagles tonight, 68-43.  Josh Pittman was 10/16 overall and 7/11 from three-point range ... throw in a FT and he had 28 points in 31 minutes.  He also had a three waved off when Stafford got called for 3-seconds.

After the score was tied at 2-2, Guilford was never seriously headed again.  I think BC pulled to within 4 at 17-13, but a Pittman three at the buzzer made it 32-23 at the half.  I've attached the box, but Bridgewater was 11/51 overall and only 1/15 on threes, which means they only scored 23 points from the floor.  It was an aggressive game defensively, so BC had 20 made FTs.

Quakers move to 10-5, 4-2 while the Eagles drop to 5-9, 1-4.

Sounds like some exciting finishes tonight ... congratulations to the winners!

It was a very tough game in Crenshaw tonight & could have gone either way.  George Johnson can hit a 3 from anywhere, just about any time he wants to.

But, Danny Jones was amazing.  As for that 3 by Kevin V to close the 1st half?  We've been waiting 4 years to see that awesome kid pull something like that off.  It was well worth the wait.

Go JACKETS!!!  And congrats to all the winners tonight.

Lynchburg 70  H-SC 65  -  Lynchburg led most of the game but a 10-0 HSC run at the start of the 2nd half put HSC up by 3 - Jessee had 16 and freshman Kolbi had 13 in about 12 minutes or so of playing time - this was a positive as he has been sick with mono -  Lynchburg's transfer from Liberty - # 22 had a great game and their FT were 20 out of 24 - defensely, a toss up but HSC did have 17 turnovers

Congratulations to Page Moir on his 231 ODAC victory last night, having more ODAC wins than any coach in ODAC history.  A great win for RC last night over W&L.  Also to Lynchburg for defeating a good HSC team.  I have never seen the ODAC as strong as it is this year.  A great wealth of talented players and coaches.  No game will be put in the win column easily this season.

There will be no easy wins, for sure.  Lynchburg looked very good and I'm surprised that their record isn't a little better.  Nate Campbell is a tremendous player and will be trouble for Lynchburg's opponents.

Khobi Williamson had 13 points and 7 rebounds in 12 minutes of play.  Good to see him back on the court and looking awfully strong for a guy who is still in recovery from illness.
