Because someone else may have thrown down 30+!   ;D

If that were true, I'd agree, but averaging 20 pts (no offense to the LC kid) against two lowly programs like J&W and HSC is not 30 pts against the mighty YJs of RMC. ;D
He went 4-14 from the field against Randolph in a loss. It's the player of the week, not the player of one game. That's why Phil Hawley didn't get POW a few years ago when he nearly dropped 50 on E&H. Plus they lost a game, very rare you see a guy win POW if they don't go undefeated during the week.

Just got back from the Freeman Center and, although the Jackets won pretty handily,it wasn't as impressive as it sounds when you just look at the scoreboard. They looked almost scared to take open shots at times and when they did they still didn't fall.CNU cut the lead to I think 5 at one point before Eric Pugh took over-he carried us tonite.Super Soph Lamar Giggetts also is turning into a good player for us.The KING FISH, Dave Macedo, and some of his entourage were in attendance, and if I were them I would not come out of that gym the least bit afraid of us-at times we were VERY beatable tonight! We got the "W" but it wasn't overwhelming..I don't know how many points he scored but Danny Jones was particularly "incredibly average" and a step behind and a little off ALL NITE LONG.Our foul shooting(except for Eric Pugh) was pathetic,also!.. :(.....now we just have to concentrate on W&L and then, and ONLY THEN, can we start to get ready for VWC...Winnin' UGLY!.....GO JACKETS

If you are speaking of Coach Macedo in "fish" terms then "The King Fish," as you describe him, would be surrounded by his "school," not entourage ;D

By the by, Kevin is now a member of the Winchester, VA semi-pro team. I guess he's given up on any serious attempt at a pro career, opting instead for teaching and playing a little basketball.

Thanks for the update, '82! 8-)  Jones has been carrying the team in lots of games; I guess you're entitled to an off night once in a while.  But I do think we need more from our seniors.  Hopefully everything will be together by tournament time!

JWW-I meant no offense or anything derogatory by my remark but if you had seen what we saw you would have used the same description we did. They pulled up in a LARGE vehicle, ignoring the people flagging traffic, and pulled up to the front door right beside us as we were going in.Six or seven of them piled out-KingFish,Dave Doino(whom I didn't even know was still on his staff)and a few other members of whom I assume were his staffers(didn't look like players)They were all dressed the same-VWC Grey Sweat suits-very protective of him-it looked like an "entourage"piling in there.Of all of the coaches in the ODAC I respect and admire Coach Macedo for what he has done  at VWC(can't say that ,Because of my school affiliation , that I've always LIKED him, though!)and certainly wasn't trying to belittle him in any way.If you had seen what WE saw, like I said, you would probably had the same reaction. ;) :D ;D :o He is DEFINITELY a respected adversary ;)

Jacketlawyer-Danny did have a particularly off night-it wasn't like he wasn't trying-he was just off his game.Jordan Brown, LONG a favorite of mine, played pretty well in the first half and his defense is ALWAYS superb.Croskey(although a junior) wasn't awful but was timid,as were alot of them, like they were playing not to lose instead of to win.Braxton wasn't that bad ,either-I''ve just seen better.Maybe we've gotten spoiled and used to great performances from these guys all the time and when they're a little off we think they're bad when they're really not-I know we'll miss them all next year when they're not there.I was just looking forward to the same performances I was used to seeing and they weren't all there.Hopefully, it will be alot better saturday and next wed at VWC! Looking forward to the tourney, too!!Myself  and some of my old classmates were making plans last night-hope I can make it! ;) :D ;D 8-)

rmc1982 - I'm sorry I missed that! Just like "Entourage." What a hoot. Dave Doino is the Assistant at NC Wesleyan. He must have been in town to scout for his team. Old #44, Peter Warren, is headed for the beach this weekend to participate in the alumni game. He's been working on his 3 point shot so we'll see if he still has it ;D

JWW-It WAS kind of a hoot-Thats where KINGFISH came from-one of my old classmates saw him and said -Who the He__ do they think they are??....and I replied"He's the KingFish-He can do whatever he wants"(an obvious reference to the Late Huey P Long  ;) ;D)and it kinda stuck.....and besides he IS the King Fish.....and you can tell him we call him that now!....and Dave Doino-I didn't think I had seen him on the bench, but it all makes sense now-but he had the same "uniform " on the rest of them did so i thought maybe he was still on staff.....and Peter Warren ?? That IS a blast from the past-he used to give Mike(Rhoades) ULCERS with that 3pt shooting, and at the most inopportune times!(at least for us!)Please give the KingFish  our best..... ;) 8-) ;D.....and tell him we'll see him next wed nite in "his" Tank!! :D ;D ;)

The only surprise here is the EMU's aren't even included, although it probably shouldn't be because of their losses.DIII Hoops has a higher opinion, I guess :D ;D ;)

EMU is 8-4 in region - much lower in-region winning percentage hurts.

"D-Mac"-Just pulling your chain buddy!I knew why and I totally agree....Looks like they HAVE to win the ODAC tournament to get in now.......barring a total collapse by everyone else, that is!

Looks like EMU has a lot of work to do to get an at-large bid this year. Even if they win all their remaining regular season games I don't see it happening with only one opponent left (VWC) who is ranked in the region.

Dave 'd-mac' McHugh

Well... EMU has to not lose more then one more probably... and hope for not too many upsets around the country.

Oh-I almost forgot-I wanted to ask you VWC guys something one of my frat bro's asked me last night(and he's always been REALLY smart-Phi Beta Kappa and all that)He said that he thought that a CNU starting guard named Paul Meredith started at VWC and must have transferred to CNU-I noticed he's a local kid(from Bethel HS in Hampton)The more i looked at him it seems I also remember him playing for The Fish-is he a former VWC guard?
