FISHTANKFAN

Thanks JWW and Oldfish...well said...Nice to see Oldfish posting here again, and JWW thanks for the history lesson.  Good luck to all the teams tonight and this week.  I think the tournament this year may be the best one ever...and we shall see some simply great basketball being played with no distractions and no home court advantage..just pure talent.  I can't wait.... :)

I agree Fishtankfan........should be the most wide-open tourney in YEARS!!Any one of 6 or 7 teams could win it, and until tournament weekend i don't have a CLUE who it might be.There is a case to be made for H-SC(WHITE-HOT right now),Guilford(Dangerous anytime)EMU(Runnin' Royals NEED IT to get in the Dance, probably)Randolph(Dark-Horse),VWC (perennial favorite)R-MC(Senior Leadership), or even W&L(made a run at it last year).Heck even some of the others could put a game or two together, who knows?? I might be a latecomer myself if my Jackets win a game! Still dunno if I'm off that weekend yet....and Thanks JWW for the dissertation......I remember Doino when he played-he would mix it up inside with Jared Mills.....and NOBODY did that too much!...I actually saw him a week or so ago at the R-MC-CNU game with Macedo -JWW(or maybe DeWayne) said he was an asst at NCWC...Oldfish....like i said before....I miss that wit!! Keep posting!!

Speaking of the VWC men.....it should be a VERY interesting game tonight against the EMUs.....On one hand, the EMUs desperately need a win against a quality opponent to even be mentioned for an at-large bid, and even then its a longshot.I still feel they have to win the tournament to get in, and H-SC is WHITE-HOT right now and could walk into Roanoke and steal it!On the other hand, after the debacle at H-SC the Wily Fox KingFish Macedo should have his boys ready for the shootout that is sure to occur tonight. The EMUs are tailor-made for Macedo's style of play and if I had to bet I'd probably give the Fish a slight edge,as they will be coming into Harrisonburg with a chip on their shoulder after the loss to the Tigers. This should be one GREAT ballgame!! Any of you FISH-ermen going to be in attendance this evening, or are you succumbing to your Valentine's wishes and staying home to keep the peace?... ;) :D ;D ::) :P

Although the Runnin Royals have 4 losses, 2 of them are to Macon.  With an 18-4 record, I expect they'll get a Pool C if they win their last 3 against VWC, W&L, and Guilford.  EMU could certainly win all three and, if they do, they'll go into the tournament as (probably) the #3 seed and will need their quarterfinal to get a Pool C.  If they lose to Macon again in the semifinals and finish with a 22-5 record, with three of those losses to the Yellow Jackets, I think they should get a Pool C.  Tonight's game would go a long way toward getting them a Pool C bid.  If they get their 5th loss before the end of the regular season, they'll probably have to get to the ODAC Championship game to have a shot at the NCAAs.

I expect victories by the home teams tonight ..... EMU and Hampden-Sydney.

Really Hasa?? Maybe I'm a little naiive but I thought EVERYBODY travelled in suits-I know Hal Nunnally &Mike Rhoades used to make our kids travel in suits and I assume Nathan does.....Hell My youngest son's JJV basketball team(7th and 8th graders) even travel to away games in suits(his coach is OLD SCHOOL).I just assumed everybody did......Where have I been?? I agree Hasa.....It makes you look alot more ....WELL......Professional I guess...... ::) ;)
I don't know what every coach requires - I just know my coach made us wear a coat and tie and we were, well, more well-behaved because of it.  Show me any two guys in a scuffle and I'll bet they're both not wearing a suit.  lol  Heck, on Cops, they're usually not even wearing a shirt - or at least one with sleeves, but that's another story altogether!  :)

There once was a college so boring
At ballgames no heckling, just snoring.
They hug trees and they yawn.
Frisbee golf on the lawn.
But one-twenty "winz" if you're scoring!

Including this season, Guilford's 120-26 in the last five years with four straight invitations to the NCAA tournament and two trips to the DIII Final Four.  zzzzzz

Go Quakers!  :)

hasanova..... now that I think about it... Im not even sure if the guys in Miami compare to Guilford's Big 3 in Bonner, Henson, and Sanborn... being that I am not the biggest LeBrick, I mean LeBron fan... I'll take Rhett Bonner, Clay Henson and especially Tyler Sanborn (a member of my beloved Lakers summer league squad) over those guys any day!

All EMU in the first half in Harrisonburg 47-32 at the break. Pancione and Johnson leading the way for the runnin' royals with 11 and 10 respectively. Marlins led by Woodmore and Roberts with 8 a piece. Royals 'D' is the story thus far...see if the Marlins can make some halftime adjustments and get back into this one.... ;D
