Haha, Ya it's starting to get ugly. 4 Marlins with 4 fouls with 7 and a half to go. EMU still attacking.

HSCDad

Good balance scoring - George with 22  Jesse with 19 (5 for 6) and Ru with 12  - only 9 turnovers - W&L did their usual rebounding with 38-32 total - 50+% shooting with 60% from 3 point range and 75% foul shooting by H-SC - much fewer fouls than Saturday - 7th place and raising!!

HSCDad

80-61  Royals all over Marlins - 10 fouls each with 5:49 to good

And ANOTHER thing...Guilford IS boring and the only reason they are having any success in basketball is due to their VWC trained head coach! Dont worry Lynchburg I'm sure we will train another winner that you can have someday soon!

(tongue firmly in cheek for those of you that think I might be serious)

Guilford boring?  Sportscenter 9,7,5,3, and 1 play of the day boring?  Triple overtime at the fishtank boring?  You must be mad!  Something is fishy here.
You could take boring and shove it. You know, respectfully like.

hasanova..... now that I think about it... Im not even sure if the guys in Miami compare to Guilford's Big 3 in Bonner, Henson, and Sanborn... being that I am not the biggest LeBrick, I mean LeBron fan... I'll take Rhett Bonner, Clay Henson and especially Tyler Sanborn (a member of my beloved Lakers summer league squad) over those guys any day!

And what the heck has gotten into DeWayne?  Call the doctor.

The road is a harsh mistress.

Since oldfish and DeWayne are being so polite, I'll admit that after they are done trying to warm up partly on the wrong side of anybody's court, the VWC team is well coached and exciting to watch.

For the record, Brandon Adair is finishing up his degree at VWC, his education interrupted because he wanted to continue playing Basketball overseas. Coach Macedo has benched players for academic reasons in the past and has done everything he can possibly do to see that his players graduate.  Why must only Coach Macedo and VWC be put on trial for every player, every word and action of every game ? Shall we disect every team and coach in the ODAC also?  I am certain that their was no concerted effort by VWC to antagonize  HSC fans or players without any provocation.  Their first meeting at VWC had no incidents.  We do not know the whole story, and our biases for and against any school are very evident in the postings.  Each person will see what they want to see and believe what they want to believe, regardless of the facts.  It was an ugly game yesterday, one to put behind both teams and fans alike.  You can argue until doomsday about who was to blame and how it started but no one will ever agree, even if the all saw the same thing.  VWC's success will always be questioned by those who are intolerant or predjudiced in favor of their home school.  Maybe we should all learn more tolerance, players, fans and posters alike.

I myself, have on occasion made one or two indiscreet comments during games.  As surprising as this seems.

EMU leads from the tip and soundly handles the Marlins in Hburg 86-71. Dont look now but EMU seems to be hitting their stride here late in the season. Preseason All American Todd Phillips goes off to the tune of 22 pts 11 rebs and 5 assists. Pancione and Johnson each poured in 18 and Crawford chips in 11 pts and 8 boards for the Runnin' Royals. Wesleyan was led by Woodmore (Woodmore is the real deal for the Marlins, knocked down some big shots with a hand in his face multiple times) with 18 and Vaughn with 10. Teasley struggled going 3-16 from the field finishing with only 9.

Makes me think of an old Beatles song...................with a little help from my.........'s

Can't figure out what that's supposed to mean, donho .... but I can guarantee you that anyone watching how the Marlin big men banged and fouled the Tigers over and over wouldn't have argued with the way the refs' called the fouls.  All those guys -- Vaughn, Astorga, Davis, and Brown -- seemed to be playing under the basket as if they didn't have to worry about having their fouls called.  Perhaps they hoped they could get Harrison George fouled out of the game if they played it rough enough.  And Macedo stood on the court the whole game, but was finally called on it and given a technical.  The Marlins' bench taunted the Sydney players in a way I haven't seen any ODAC bench do this season.

The Tigers played their best game of the season ... they have been getting better and better ... and now, having lost by 2 points to the #11 Yellow Jackets and by 2 to Lynchburg, they've put together three 10-19 point victories over Randolph, Bridgewater, and Emory & Henry, plus a victory over #19 Ferrum and #6 VWC.  They are clearly among the best five teams in this league, along with VWC, RMC, EMU, and Guilford.  Harrison George (22 pts, 6 reb) should be among the top two vote-getters for POY this year, and Ru White (16 pts, 9 reb) is certainly an All-ODAC second-teamer, if not a first-teamer.  Randall Ward (17 pts, 4 assists) and Colin O'Neill (11 pts) are playing their career best over the past 5 games, and Sasha Obradovic was really quite impressive this afternoon.  Ben Jessee, although shooting little, was strong throughout and had 5 assists.  The Tigers shot 50% against a solid Marlin defense, 33% from behind the arc, and 72% from the foul line.  They outrebounded the Marlins, 40-33.
"And Macedo stood on the court the whole game, but was finally called on it and given a technical."

Macedo did the same thing at Guilford and probably should've been called for a Technical, but wasn't.

Wow, that's terrific.  I've been waitin' for years to Macedo to get off the court.  It is ridiculous, really.  The refs have been way to slack on that for about a decade.

HSCDad,
HSC is currently in 6th.  Tonight's win puts them one win ahead of Lynchburg.  They are currently behind RMC, VWC, EMU, GC, and Randolph.  If the Tigers win one more they are almost assured the 6 seed (Lynchburg would have to beat VWC and Randolph).  If the Tigers win both, they are assured of the 6 seed and could finish as the 5 seed if Randolph loses both and would be in a tie with Randolph if the Wildcats only win one.  I am not sure of what the tiebreaker is since they split the regular season and the schedule is unbalanced now.  So the Tigers are currently in 6th and will likely end up there if they can win one of their last two games.

Hopefully they will win both and possibly end up as the 5 seed to avoid EMU in the 1st Round in Salem.  Of course, Guilford still has something to say about who is the 3rd seed with a game left against EMU on Saturday.  I just don't like the matchup with EMU.  The Tigers are better equipped to play RMC and VWC.  At this point, I am just looking forward to the HSC-GC game on Wednesday.  Any Quaker fans making the trip?

HSCDad

Thanks for correction on 7th and 6th - good that H-SC will have home court for the play in game - I concur on desire not to play EMC on first round - game tonight went well - little time in 2nd half when turnovers showed up with long court passes but they settled down - Jesse was hot which will be needed here at end of season - George and White played their usual good game especially Ru's defense - I imagine that he will have big assignment on Wednesday night

I'm sure there will be some fans there - especially the parents of the Seniors.  I can't go - I have to work until 5 Wednesday and then back at work early Thursday.  Fleet is a place I'd like to go, but the ODAC NEVER schedules GC/HSC on a weekend - it's ALWAYS a Wednesday.  Shake it up a little, will you?  lol  I'm sure I'll be listening on the net.  :)

Hey Hasanova,
We will keep it boring to make the Quakers feel at home.  Everyone is going to wear white so as not to offend the Quakers.  We will also make sure to tell the students to sing some peace and love songs.  Maybe I can convince them to play "Can You feel the Love Tonight" (Elton John version) to make the Quakers feel at home.  On second thought, I think we'll stick with the white shirts but ask the students to be extra loud while refraining from any unsportsmanlike conduct.  The Quakers are a team I always like to watch play because they play good sound, fundamental basketball.  I just hope we have their number this year.  And the number is 5, as in 5th loss in conference! ;D

Is GC doing a broadcast or are you going to listen to the HSC feed?  The guys do a good job and tend to call it like they see it.
