Seeding for the tournament is a little clearer now:

#1 - VWC or RMC
#2 - VWC, RMC, or EMU
#3 - VWC or EMU
#4 - EMU or Guilford
#5 - HSC or Randolph
#6 - HSC or Randolph
#7 - Lynchburg / Roanoke
#8 - Lynchburg / Roanoke
#9 - W&L / Bridgewater
#10 - W&L / Bridgewater
#11 - Emory & Henry

So Emory & Henry will travel to Randolph or HSC, and the other two play-in games will have #10 W&L/BC traveling to #7 RC/LC and #9 W&L/BC traveling to #8 RC/LC.
Thanks for putting this together.  You only have one option for the Quakers (4th) - can't they still possibly finish 3rd?

You are certainly correct.  My take is that Guilford will be #3 if they win on Saturday vs. EMU.  I have modified my original post.  Thanks.

So EMU would have the following points if they lose to Guilford on Saturday:

Virginia Wesleyan W = same as Guilford's Virginia Wesleyan W
Randolph-Macon 2L = 0 points, whereas Guilford would have 1/2*(50 to 55, depending on outcome of VWC's and RMC's games)
Randolph 1-1 = same as Guilford's Randolph 1-1
Hampden-Sydney W = 30 to 35, depending on outcome of HSC's and Randolph's games, whereas Guilford gets 0 points for losing only encounter vs. HSC.
Lynchburg W = same as Guilford's Lynchburg W
Roanoke W = same as Guilford's Roanoke W
Washington and Lee 1-1 = same as Guilford's Washington and Lee 1-1
Bridgewater 2W = same as Guilford's Bridgewater 2W
Emory and Henry 2W = same as Guilford's Emory and Henry 2W

It appears to me that EMU will win the tie-breaker, under the point system, and is assured of no lower than the 3rd seed, whereas Guilford is firmly entrenched as the #4 seed, regardless of the outcome of Saturday's games ..... so I think I'll again modify my earlier post, hasa  ;)

Without going into the details, I've done the numbers on an HSC/Randolph tiebreaker and HSC wins the tie, regardless of whether they both win or both lose on Saturday.

Consequently, HSC get the #5 seed for the tourney, unless they lose to Macon AND Randolph defeats Lynchburg.  It's quite possible that both games could turn out that way (RMC and Randolph both winning on Saturday), but I'm hoping and betting that one of the other three sets of outcomes will occur.

One thing's for sure: One of these two teams will get the #5 seed and be scheduled to play Guilford at 3pm on Friday the 25th in Salem.

Good luck to all the teams around the ODAC this weekend!  There is much at stake in terms of seedings.

GO JACKETS!!!!!

Guilford's revamped their website and it looks good.  If you've never seen the inside of Ragan-Brown Fieldhouse, there's a great action shot of Josh Pittman driving the lane versus Randolph-Macon (it may not be the shot that comes up initially as it's scrolling through about four or five photos).

They used to have live stats. Why get rid of it now?

New to this message board and just wondering what impacts the Karma meter....??
Any insight would be helpful here as I am already at a -4 and would like to not have a bad karma rating. Not tring to cause problems just like to discuss sports as I just graduated in December and was a D3 athlete myself. Sorry if I have offended anyone with my posts, not my intentions...

No worries, it's just the initiation phase.

Kenleen says:
I think Guilford is a must-win Saturday for EMU to get into the NCAA tournament unless they win the ODAC tournament.  EMU played too many PA and NAIA schools to be highly ranked in the South Region even though they are top 14 in the D3Hoops rankings and beat Ferrum and VA Wesleyan Head-to-Head.  With all 5 starters back from their elite 8 finish last year, it would be a huge disappointment for the EMU SR 5 to be sitting and watching after the ODAC tournament but it could happen since they appear to be a bubble C-Qualifying Team.

Once a poster has 200 posts, he/she gets 'applaud' and 'smite' buttons.  Karma is 'theoretically' a measure of other posters' appreciation or contempt for one's posts.  Alas, all too often it is abused to automatically 'do in' a fan of a rival school, or 'promote' a fan of one's own school.  For all but a handful of contrarians (who take pride in their negative karma - Touchdown Tommy on the MIAC football board is at -1767 last time I checked! :o) +k is nicer than -k, but the best advice is just don't worry about it.

But here's some +k for ya. ;)
