WOW, what a game at GC today! DJ Hinson stepped up big to drive the length of the court with 4.7 sec left to send it to 2OT. Then DJ iced it with 1.7 left when he hit two FT. Wow what a game. I wouldn't want to see the Quakers in Roanoke, they are a great ball club with a great coach! Huge win for EMU with Todd and Orie both fouling out. Eli and Drew played with 4 for a long time!!! Unreal game!  Great Regular season finish at 21-4.. Lets Go Royals!

It was a great game today, but the officiating was uneven.  The ODAC has preserved their three teams with only four losses or less.

really, are you indicating you think that the officials were told to make sure certain teams won so there would be the chance for more post-season action for the league?  That seems to be a huge deal.  What proof would you have of that?

He never suggested that.  You've misconstrued his posting entirely.

I have a hard time imagining that EMU won't get a Pool C bid, even if they lose to HSC or E&H on Friday evening in the quarterfinals.  They'd finish their season at 21-5, with 2 of their losses to a Randolph-Macon team that still has their top 12 scorers from last year's Final Four team.  Certainly, after the Royals' big-time defeat of VWC this past week, they will be ranked higher in the next NCAA Regional Ranking.

The last Regional Ranking, through last Sunday's games:
1 Virginia Wesleyan (ODAC) 17-2 20-2 --- Now 19-3 22-3, with a 15-point loss to EMU
2 Randolph-Macon (ODAC) 18-4 20-4 --- Now 19-4 21-4, with today's 1-pt. win over HSC
3 Ferrum 18-3 21-3 (USAS) --- Now 18-4 21-4, with today's 3-pt. loss to NC Wesleayn
4 Texas-Dallas 16-4 17-5 (ASC) --- They were really 17-4 overall. Now 19-4 20-4
5 Emory 17-4 18-4 (UAA) --- Will be 19-4 20-4, if they beat Carnegie Mellon tomorrow
6 Centre 15-4 17-4 (SCAC) --- Will be 17-4 19-4, if they defeat Birmingham-Southern (17-3 20-3) tomorrow
7 North Carolina Wesleyan (USAS) 12-4 17-6 --- Now 14-4 19-6, with today's 3-pt. win over Ferrum
8 Eastern Mennonite (ODAC) 12-4 18-4 --- Now 15-4 21-4, with a 15-pt. win over VWC

The SCAC AQ could very well go to Centre.  If they don't get the AQ, they will have a shot at a shot at a Pool C bid.

The USA South AQ will likely go to NC Wesleyan, Ferrum, or CNU.  Ferrum & NC Wesleyan will have a shot at a Pool C bid.

The ASC AQ could go to a number of teams.  Only Texas-Dallas has a shot at a Pool C bid.

The ODAC AQ could go to a number teams.  VWC & RMC seem like a shoe-in for a Pool C, and EMU certainly deserves one too.

In the UAA, Emory still has a shot of getting the AQ, so we can hope that they'll win that and not be in the running for a Pool C bid.

Even though VWC hasn't been playing their best basketball as of late I am still excited about them being the #1 seed going into ODACs and them having a great chance of advancing to the championship game. Every game in the tournament will be a battle, especially with W&L always being a tough team and VWC having to come from behind to beat Lynchburg, then a potential rematch with Guilford, who VWC has only beat once in the past 3 seasons. If they can play well in the first 2 rounds and come out with wins, I think they will be prepared for a battle in the championship game with whoever they face... haven't been more excited for an ODAC tournament in a while

WOO HOO!  It was a barnburner as usual, but the outcome went our way in a raucous gym.  Congrats to the 7 Jackets seniors who have helped put together a new college record in 95 years of R-MC basketball history:  first time EVER that we've had 4 consecutive 20 win seasons!!!!

Kudos to our coaches for the final .06 play-calling today.

We will NEVER forget these 7 great guys that have brought so much to R-MC & we're very proud of the example they've set as students and players.

Congrats to all the winners today and best wishes to all for Salem & beyond!

GO JACKETS!!!!

Sorry if I misconstrued the post earlier.  I was reading inconsistent refereeing and then linking it to the next sentence.  My bad.

Of the last 6 games between the Tigers and the Yellow Jackets, 4 of the games have been decided by 2 points or less ..... and all of those close games have been won by the Yellow Jackets.  Very frustrating.

1/14/04 @ RMC -- RMC 70, HSC 64
2/14/04 @ HSC -- HSC 71, RMC 68

1/12/05 @ RMC -- RMC 67, HSC 46
2/12/05 @ HSC -- RMC 68, HSC 60
2/20/05 @ Salem (Semifinals) -- RMC 67, HSC 63

2/11/06 @ RMC -- RMC 91, HSC 75
2/19/06 @ Salem (Semifinals) -- RMC 92, HSC 83

2/17/07 @ HSC -- HSC 82, RMC 53

1/19/08 @ HSC -- RMC 72, HSC 59

At Crenshaw:  RMC 7, HSC 1
At Salem:  RMC 3, HSC 1

The Tigers and the Yellow Jackets could play again in an ODAC Semifinal next Saturday evening, if the two teams can get past the Wasps, Maroons, and Royals.
