You have the times reversed algernon. R-MC plays at 6 and EMU plays at 8.
You are correct, and I certainly knew the correct time even though I put down the wrong time.  It's amazing what my brain will do these days ...

"You're right.  Davis has had a great two years so far, but with Mike's recruits.  Hopefully we can just reload.  But we should enjoy our seniors. Right now."

Spot on!  These 7 seniors ARE a first class group who have helped bring a lot of glory to R-MC.  But you know what?  So are the rest of the players.  I hope there's no one out there underestimating Croskey, Desgain, Giggetts and the like?  Croskey hit 4 of his 6 3's on Sat. & played 26 minutes without a turnover.  We'll take that kind of player every day of the week, thank you very much.

What a shame that the big Richmond schools like U 0f R get front page RT-D press every day, but especially for their 5 on "Senior Day", while R-MC's sublime 7 got barely a mention.  They must think Ashland doesn't contribute that much to the local economy?  What a lame sports newspaper; just witness their errors in today's headlines, let alone everyday ODAC box scores/score lines.

Fortunately, the Jackets don't have to read the paper to know how much their fans love them!

GO JACKETS!!!!

Algernon, the numbers are not always the numbers.  Several years ago, a former Dean at HSC told me that HSC doesn't include all students in their SAT reports.  They historically have excluded 'comditionally' accepted students, those that I assume to be on the low end academically.  He even said some athletes were excluded, not sure why.

And, maybe, other schools do the same.

But, as you said, that's not basketball.

Yes, let's stick to Basketball.  We are not here to judge any School, coach or athlete.   Coaches don't set admission policy .   End of discussion.  On a higher note, Good luck to all the teams  this weekend, and for those who do not make it to Salem , thanks for a great year.  Hopefully we can get 3 teams to the NCAA's.  GO MARLINS!!!!

$5 tickets required for the games tonight.  At HSC, there's a free "child" policy that allows anyone of college age or younger to get in free!

HSC's lineup of teams seems set up until the semifinal game, if they can win the first two games and get that far.  The lineup will be Emory and Henry tonight, EMU on Friday, and almost certainly Randolph-Macon on Saturday.  Although it's theoretically possible that Roanoke or Bridgewater could beat RMC on Friday night, this season's results suggest it's extremely unlikely.  In two games against Roanoke, the Yellow Jackets won by an AVERAGE point margin of 35 points!  And, in their only game against Bridgewater, the Yellow Jackets won by 36 points.

If the Tigers can get to the championship game, there's no telling who they might face .... VWC's the favorite, but Guilford's certainly got a good shot, and I wouldn't entirely rule out Randolph.

For tonight, I'm going with the higher seeds and betting on wins by Hampden-Sydney, Roanoke, and Lynchburg.

It's fairly safe to go with the higher seeds, especially with home court advantage.  Gaining home court advantage makes the reg season games meaningful, as does gaining a first-round bye for the top 5 seeds.  The ODAC is becoming like the Big 10 where I went to grad school and worked for 16 years.  Home court is a huge advantage and even the best teams struggle to win away games (note Ohio State this year).  I'm glad that we play most of our ODAC tournament on a neutral court since it  evens the playing field.  Having it at the site of the National Championships is an added bonus that we should thank the good people in Salem for hosting.

Good luck to the six ODAC teams playing tonight.  I know the season will end for three of you tonight, but thanks for a great season.  And to the winners ... see you in Salem on Friday!

Wow, you are just looking right past EMU in the Quarters. I would think this game will be much harder to win than you anticipate!!!! Go Royals, 3 more in a row!!!!!!!!

I wish all teams the best of luck in the tournament!!!

My picks for tonight will be all top seeds as well. I do think there will be upsets this year in the tournament, but not until the Semi's!!!
