The Tigers made it to the Sweet Sixteen in 1994, 1995, 1998, 1999, and 2003.  Maybe in 1989.  The Marlins have done it in 2006 and 2007 and 2011 ... maybe another time.  The Yellow Jackets have made it that far 2 or 3 times, I think.  Guilford has been there twice, I believe.  EMU once.  So 13-16 ODAC teams have made it to the Sweet Sixteen over the past 20 years.  About 10 of those teams have been to the Sweet Sixteen in the past 10 years.  Pretty impressive.
Thanks for putting this together.  Guilford was in the Elite 8 in 2007 and in the Final Four in 2009 and 2010, so I consider that three times in the Sweet 16.

Thanks for all of your great commentary throughout the season, hasa.  I had a feeling that Guilford might be more than twice to the Sweet Sixteen this past decade.  What a great run for them .... to the Sweet Sixteen 3 out of 4 years! .... and, also, in the Final Four two years in a row!  That's very tough to do, as evidenced by the fact that neither Stevens Point nor Randolph-Macon was able to get back for a second year in a row this year.

So, in the past 10 years, the ODAC has gotten into the Sweet Sixteen: Tigers x1, Guilford x3, EMU x 1, RMC x2 or more, VWC x3 or more.  At least 10 teams in 10 years .... perhaps more!

You guys are all just jealous of how the students at SMCM have embraced the basketball team and show their support for them.  They are not D1 wannabes they are simply the best D3 crowd in the nation.  There is not a more intimidating atmosphere in the country except for maybe at Duke or College Park.  You don't like the fans then don't come to the games. SMCM went farther then any ODAC team did this year.  And you guys keep talking about the past like it actually means something.  Sorry those times are gone and we like to live in the present.  Im so proud of my St Mary's boys if you have not already figured it out.  SMCM is now a d3 powerhouse and it is scary to think what next year will bring for them Final Four or even National Championship.  I don't think any ODAC teams want to play against SMCM come tourney time or even the regular season.  I would love to see EM play SMCM next year.

oh purpleheart you told us! Now, why don't you go try a cranial/rectal infusion.

Algernon, Given the Marlins are not losing any players this year, I see no reason to believe that they will not improve through experience to become an even better team than this year.  They might even score a few new recruits to improve the team further.  You may think that they will be outshined by the Tigers and the Quakers but we will have to wait and see how the teams shape up come fall.  I see a big year for many teams, including the Marlins.  Sorry you feel the need to question the Marlins talents year in and year out.  What other team in the ODAC has made the NCAA tournament 7 straight years?????What other ODAC team has won a national championship in the second year of going to the dance, and a national runnerup the third year?  When I give the Marlins credit for anything it is because they are my team.  I feel no need to put other good teams down in the process. I am not asking you to move to Virginia Beach, just cut down on all the left-handed compliments.  I will be happy to send you a VWC hat if you wish. ;D EMU would have gotten to the dance if they had more "in region wins."  It wasn't their record that hurt them, as much who they played. They had a great year and I am certain they would have made some noise in the NCAA's. I am sorry that they did not get in. I am sure that the Tigers and the Quakers will be improved also and I look forward to great games from both. I want to see the ODAC shine and the more quality teams the better.  See everyone in the fall.  Have a great summer! GO ODAC!

You had a great season this year.  Congratulations.  Now, until we start practice in the fall, focus on punctuation, conjunctions, prepositions and contractions.  By the way, the final score on January 3, 2011 was Guilford 61, St. Mary's 57.  I was there - cheering for my team and politely welcoming yours.

There once was a "fan" of St. Mary's,
A "Seahawkish" sort of contrary.
He ducks in like a dastard

St. Mary's brought their "classy" act to Rochester, where a small contingent of students proceeded to yell at the Middlebury parents prior to the game: "Sorry you came so far to see your son lose."  Of course, they weren't nearly so yappy after the 15-point Middlebury beatdown. I also heard later that they directed some fairly disgusting comments to Midd's coach, perhaps the most stoic coach in DIII, when the teams came out to start the second half.

Stay classy Seahawks!

Once again.... no surprises here.  Sorry that all the folks at Rochester had to experience that... but we guess it doesn't travel all that well?  Congrats to Middlebury!

Looks like an exciting Final Four ahead for D-III, even with no ODAC teams this year.  Best wishes to all of them in Salem this weekend.

DeWayne, donho, rmc82 and 78, hasanova... you guys are hilarious!

Maybe those seagulls or whatever they are will go away now & stay away!

We think the Marlins will be super solid next year, along with H-SC, Randolph & the ever-present Quakers.  Hope the young Jackets can bring some excitement to the courts, too!

Hope everyone has a great summer!  GO ODAC TEAMS!!!
