I know it may be too early, but now that the season is officially over, what are everyone's ODAC predictions for next year? My top 3 are VWC, HSC, and GC. VWC brings back their entire roster, including National FOY DJ Woodmore, HSC brings back Harrison George, Ru White, Randall Ward, and a host of talented players, and GC brings back Josh Pittman, who proved to be the next great perimeter marksman from GC. I almost would put RMC in at 3rd, but they lose some big pieces in Brandon Braxton, Jordan Brown, Eric Pugh, and Danny Jones..... what do you guys think?

I gotta get through football season and find out who we got as hoops recruits before I can even begin to speculate.  As others have said, this Randolph-Macon senior class will be difficult to replace! :P  But I enjoyed another good year on this board, and I hope to see you all when football season starts! 8-)

I agree with your assessment, although I would have RMC as the 3rd. They will still have some very good players returning.  HSC and VWC have to be the favorites.

VWC and H-SC #1 and #2 are pretty easy picks, assuming everyone returns. No one returns as much talent as these two teams do, it's not even a discussion.

I think Guilford outperformed their roster this year, but I still have to put them at #3. However, Todd Phillips is like a D3 Stephen Curry and Tobi Akinsola performs his role well.

Randolph has to be in consideration for fourth. COlton Hunt + Woods-Morrow + Clay Nunley is going to get the job done again next year.

Too many question marks for R-MC and EMU due to all the talent they lose to put them any higher than 4th or 5th. R-MC woudl get the nod over EMU if I had to choose between the two. I know they have talent cominig back, but how much is it going to be when they are thrust into much bigger roles? How good are the kids who didn't play much? These are two teams that would not surprise me if they were picked to finish higher than they are picked in the preseason ODAC poll, just because there are so many ??? about them.

It's tight after that. Lynchburg and W&L lose virtually nothing, so I see them probably being in the 7-8 range after the six previously mentioned. Would give the nod to Lynchburg at the seven spot because they have the clear cut best player returning between the two teams in Nate Campbell.

At nine I would go Roanoke. They have a big hole to fill with the loss of Melvin Felix, but they had some decent freshmen and Logan Singleton came on very strong near the end of the season. He is poised to have a big breakout year if he can bring that over to next season.

10 goes to Bridgewater and 11 goes to E&H. Did nothing all season to make me think they will be much better next year. Very little talent on these two squads, but they do play very hard and compete and that is to be commended.

Just a quick note about a few former Jackets still dancing in the D1 tourney...Former RMC head coach Mike Rhoades (VCU Assistant), Tim Lawrence '10 (VCU Grad Asst), and Jamal Brunt '03 and former RMC Assistant to Rhoades (currently Richmond Assistant Coach)...crazy to think they could meet in the Elite 8 if both win in the Sweet 16!  Great job guys, keep "Macon" us proud!  ;)

My guess is that, in the Final D3hoops poll, we'll see something like Randolph-Macon at #10, Virginia Wesleyan at #11, and EMU at #16.  For the ODAC to have 3 teams ranked among the Top 25 at the end of the season in 2010-2011 is tremendous.
Final Top 25 is out.  Randolph-Macon at #13, Virginia Wesleyan at #10, and EMU at #17.

Nice article on DJ WOODMORE on being named the Rookie of the Year by d3hoops. http://athletics.vwc.edu/men/basketball/1512-national-rookie-of-the-year-honor-for-woodmore   Worth the read.  Again, have a great summer everyone.

Just had to stop by to say WAY TO GO, VCU RAMS!!!!

Congrats to R-MC coaching alum Rhoades --- can surely see his inlfuence in the Rams' defense.  Especially today!

GO JACKETS!!!!

Do you think he might be VCU's head coach next year, if Shaka Smart gets a better offer?

I would like to think he'd get a chance, but I doubt it.  If Mooney had left UR, I think that would have been a great fit for Rhoades.

A friend of mine out here in St. Louis who is a University of Missouri grad says Mizzou fans want Shaka Smart to come to Mizzou and bring his staff with him to replace Mike Anderson who just left to Mizzou for the Arkansas job.

Matt Painter of Purdue is seriously considering the job. Going to meet with Missouri soon to get a feel for how committed the school is to the basketball program. Might just be a ploy to get more money from Purdue, but if Purdue doesn't pony up the $$$ I would not be the least bit surprised if Painter goes to Missouri over $$$.

Intersting about Matt Painter. I'll have to watch the news tonight.

Having seen Virginia Wesleyan at Williams just recently, it is my opinion that VWC should be ranked in the top 4 to start next season. With everyone back from a team which compared favorably to anybody Williams faced this year, I would say that they should be shooting for another national championship. Rarely do you find a team that is so athletic and still shoots it so well. I thought they were almost as good as Guilford from last year, and a bit better than RMC from a year ago. I was really impressed.
