there are some that would say it's good to don king, even...the man sure has gotten away with a lot of things that common folk don't/can't/wouldn't think to try...
Well, the "mane" reason Don King makes my hair stand on end is ...

Does anyone here besides me remember The King and His Court ... or does that question belong on the baseball board?  :)

donho

The King and his court had a great four man fast pitch softball team. He would pitch from second base blindfolded and strike out batter after batter.

Eddie Feigner and 3 guys would take on all comers. They were a Wide World of Sports staple; along with the  Globies & barrel jumping.

Excellent memories, donho and baselinejam.  +1  There had to be four of them in case they got the bases loaded when they batted, but on defense sometimes the fielders didn't have to do anything!  :)  I remember a Celebrity/All-Star softball game once where they played a joke on Willie Mays.  Eddie Feigner was announced as some unknown star of B-movie westerns, so Willie thought he was an actor.  He struck out Willie on three pitches - one was thrown from behind Eddie's back.  Willie walked back to the dugout shaking his head and muttering under his breath.  The "agony of defeat."  lol

I played golf with Willie Mays years ago. The forearm on his throwing arm was gigantic. He was a good golfer too!

Say hey....what about Alan King, poor Rodney King, Billy Jean King, and, of course, Martin Luther King.....

Speaking of "Giants", wouldn't everything about them, by definition, be gigantic?  Perhaps you "Met" Willie later in his career.  :)

... say hey, what about King Kong, Budweiser and King of the Hill?  Doesn't everyone need Fay Wray, a Bud and propane and propane accessories!  :)

Word is that Coach Burgess of BC is chasing the Radford University job hard by contacting every RU alum out there.  Apparently he is telling everyone that he is in a"bad situation" at BC and wants out.  I know a lot of BC folks would be glad if he got the job but I doubt seriously at this point he has a chance to even get an interview although he was a heck of a player there back in the day.
Ive actually heard the same exact thing but I didnt know he thought he was in a bad situation, I heard that EMUs coach was being looked at too but Im not sure if thats actually true, I figure if Radford were looking at schools in the ODAC to find a coach theyd defintely look at RMC Randolph and VWC coaches

Really....now I'm tire-d of this and ready to fold my tent because you are running rings around me and if this were bridge, you'd take the rubber match!

Actually, I prefer Bridgestone.  :)  Man, it's a long time 'til practice in October!  lol

There once was a frat boy named Mattie.
Whose phat ride's a big honkin' Caddy.
He said, "I'm quite broke,
My wallet's a joke,
Twenty-two's are a gift from my Daddy!"

Well, we could ask all the prognosticators out there to pick-em for the 11-12 ODAC season. We usually do this at this time of the year to pass time :D

I predict the Quakers will be a Top 11 ODAC team.  :)
