if I didn't know better, I'd say you were either a lawyer or running for office ;)

Any words on recruits. I know the Marlins have 2 in Cameron Owens from Centreville HS and Breven Lyons from Warwick hs. Sounds like many of the ODAC schools really wanted Cameron and Wait do I see another TON Ton Balenga out of Warwick! Interesting to see where these kids fit in being that the Marlins return everyone from last year.

Well, basketball is played on a court.  :)  I think we'll be in the upper echelon of the league again, but it's really hard to say who'll start other than Pittman and perhaps Stafford and Lowder.  Stephenson, Anderson and Akinsola all graduated.

You know, jww, your comment reminded me of a former coworker in Durham, NC named Phil S.  Phil was a native of Ducktown, TN, a tiny hamlet in a mountainous mining area near where NC, GA and TN all meet.  Phil was quite the talker and had attended UT-Knoxville on a baseball scholarship, probably in the 1950's.  Anyway, it was late October or early November during an election year and some wag asked Phil if he'd ever run for office in Ducktown, to which he replied, "Yes, I ran for the city limits one time - I had the whole town behind me!"  Funny enough that I never forgot it.  :)

Well, we could ask all the prognosticators out there to pick-em for the 11-12 ODAC season. We usually do this at this time of the year to pass time :D

At this point, I think that the top 2 teams will be Hampden-Sydney and Virginia Wesleyan (in no particular order). Both teams bring back almost everyone and will be better than last year.

I also expect that
RMC, Guilford, EMU, Randolph, and Lynchburg will be strong.

Bridgewater and EHC will be fighting for last place ...  :)

Nova - too funny :D
Algernon - well said but who knows ???

Does this mean W&L and Roanoke will be fighting over 8th and 9th?

Phil was quite a character.  I also remember someone asking him where Ducktown, TN was and he said it was "right on the Tennessee border, halfway between Rooster Poot, Georgia and Bug F*&#, Alabama!"  lol

So, is this what you are talking about?
1/2 VWC/HSC
3 RMC
4 EMU
5 Guilford
6 Randolph
7 Lynchburg
8/9 W&L/RC
10 BC
11 E&HC

If The Generals don't improve I'll be very upset. 9th place this year and we lose 1 senior who averaged 19.1 minutes a game. I gotta hope that attrition at other places and growing maturity of my team will improve their circumstances.
If you make every game a life and death proposition, you're going to have problems. For one thing, you'll be dead a lot. Dean Smith

Not sure why RMC would be #3, most likely a #5/#6 team.  I'd be pleasantly surprised if RMC were higher, given the graduation losses.

Same with EMU at #4...look for the to be in the same 5/6 area with RMC as they lost all 5 starters. They did bring in a very talented Fr class last year and I hear Coach Dean has another strong class again, but they'll be young and still lacking a big man that can cause problems for the opposition.

I look for Randolph and Lynchburg to have pretty solid years and probably finish higher than these projections IMHO.

Yes, it is - I just saw W&L and Roanoke were omitted from the prediction.

My predictions are as follows:

1) VWC                           10) BC
2) HSC                            11) E&H
3) Guilford
4) EMU
5) RMC
6) Randolph
7) Lynchburg
8) W&L
9) RC

Seatfiller

Heres my predictions:

1) VWC- Can't see anyone but HSC beating them in the league next year
2) HSC- They return almost everyone and if Harrison and the coach dont have problems they can be a very good team next year
3) Guilford- Pittman kid could flat out play
4) Randolph- Return their 2 core players but lost 3 talented back ups and Pete Hamiltion their main 3point threat
5)RMC-Unsure about them also but they have one of the best coaches in the league and they had some good talent coming off the bench for them
6) Lynchburg- Will still have Campbell and return some nice guards
7) EMU-They'll be athletic and be able to keep the tempo of games fast one of their big problems will be the 3 pointer as they lost their 3 best 3point shooters
8) RC- Return Logan Singleton he dominated at the end of the year if he starts out next year the way he ended last year he will cause big problems for everyone in the league
9) W & L- Unsure about them they started out really good but ended pretty bad, but they do return almost all of their team from last year
10) BC- Could be last place they too have lost their 2 best players
11) E&H-Lost their 2 best players
