Half  Guilford 46  Eastern Mem 38
Final  R-MC 78  E&H 58

hsctigers2002

Not the best performance for the Tigers today, but with our yearly struggles on the road, I'll take a road W even if we have to win 20-19.

Randolph 89, Johnson & Wales (NC) 59 - Nothing surprising here, J&W is just pathetic

Roanoke 59, VWC 75 - Closer than I expected, but the outcome was never in doubt

RMC 78, E&H 58 - Surprised this was a 20-point W, good sign of improvement for R-MC

Looks like the Generals just rolled over for Lynchburg it appears. It took nine minutes for W&L to score their first field goal as LC opened the game up 24-2 with 11:37 to go in the half. 82-53 Lynchburg with just north of four minutes to go

Tight game in Quaker nation, Guilford up 66-57 with 5:38 to go. Josh Pittman has reverted back to the norm this season of missing nearly everything he shoots. Gabriel Lowder picking up the slack with 19 thus far.

Final - Guilford over EMU, 79-73.  Gabriel Lowder with 21 and Josh Pittman with 17.  The Quakers should have won by a dozen, but they had some shaky free throw shooting down the stretch (as usual).  Dajon Daniel with an impressive 27 for the Royals.  GC moves to 11-5, 5-2 while EMU falls to 6-9, 1-5.

I didn't get to see the game but based on past observations I'd guess that LC's style of play had more to do with it than W&L rolling over. LC plays great team defense and come at you hard at the opening tip. They seemed to shock HSC at the start of that game with 2 or 3 quick steals and conversions for an early lead before HSC recovered and responded in kind. Maybe the Generals simply never recovered from the opening shock of a smothering defense?
At any rate, Coach Scott has his team poised to prove that they belong in the top tier of ODAC teams. Quite an accomplishment just to get this far, and I don't think they're done...

Tough week for the Jackets, at Lynchburg (RMC won a close one earlier this season in Ashland) and the hated Tigers come to Ashland on Saturday.  I'd say a 1-1 week is good for the Jackets, winning both would finally make a believer out of me for this team.  0-2 is not out of the question.

I feel the same about the Quakers this week with Emory & Henry at home and Virginia Wesleyan on the road Saturday.  The first E&H game was an overtime win by GC in Emory and the Marlins, of course, are smoking almost everyone this season.  I hope for 1-1, but would be ecstatic with 2-0!

Congratulations to ODAC POW Josh Pittman from Guilford.  Two good games (actually, one of them was great) in last week's wins over BC and EMU.  Hope it continues tonight versus the Wasps!  Go Quakers!

^ We heard on the local news last night that the Sat. game sold out early.  Probably H-SC fams got the same type of allotment as always & probably about the same they allow us when we travel there.

We're not looking past Lynchburg!  It's going to be a tough game there tonight, sorry we can't be there!

GO JACKETS!!!!

So if the game sold out early, why wouldn't the release on the website say that by way of explanation, instead of making it sound like they weren't going to let anyone who wanted a shot at a ticket have one? Don't get me wrong. I love my alma mater. But as you can see from some of the comments, it was not a smart way to state the situation diplomatically and p.r. wise. Or is there something else going on that the college didn't want to make public?
