If they beat VWC, GC, and Macon in back-toback-to back games, I think they have proved that they deserve it at the very least.  That Randolph 1-pt loss earlier really looms large right now!

Agreed, if HSC does the hat trick, then they deserve the #1 and fortunately for them, the 'scheduling gods' have made it possible.  I'd love to see the last game (HSC vs. RMC) decide the regular season, as it should.  First step, beat the Virginians.

The Marlins will be the winners this saturday, so forget about hsc being number 1 in the ODAC.

Brian Hamilton

Forget about Macon being #1 too, then!

I am not the one that posted the 89 different ways for Macon to end up number one. Didn't mean to hurt anyones feelings either. Just stating that VWC will win. I just don't think they will lose back to back games.

I find it hard to believe that VWC will lose back-to-back games too.  But I wouldn't have said RMC would lose to W&L and then beat VWC.  Besides, I think the point was that 4 teams still have a shot at first but HSC and VWC are the only two that control their destiny. There is actually only one way for HSC to win the ODAC regular season crown and that is to win out because the other three teams won't blow their games against the lower teams.

Don, I think you're right, but I'm hoping you're wrong.  What VWC and RMC have that HSC doesn't and the reason HSC has lost to both is quickness.  Plus, that's why VWC and RMC matchup so well.  As one of the HSC guys said, HSC could not defend RMC's quickness, especially around the basket.  Beat the Virginians.

After watching that half of basketball can't believe that hsc has won 17 games. Did not see any team play whatsoever. Plenty of me,me,me.

Marlins looking very flat in the second half.

If HSC could hit a FT, they'd be up by 10.

The Marlins win by 2 points on a buzzer-beater by Ollie Brown.

After being down by 12 points at the end of the first half, the Tigers were 63% from the field in the second half, outplaying the Marlins by a 43-33 margin.  They were ahead, for 5 seconds, and then tied at the very end, but the Marlins got it done on their final possession to get the win, 73-71.

As 78rmc says, the Tigers would have won the game, had they made their free throws.  They were only 14 for 29 from the line!  Had they hit 70% from the FT line (20 for 29), they would have won the game by 4 points.  FT shooting has been a problem throughout the season for some of the Tigers.

What's clear to me is that it's a good thing for the Marlins that they are fairly assured of a Pool C bid for the NCAA tournament, because there is no certainty that they will win the tournament in Salem and get the AQ.  They could certainly be beaten in the tournament by the Yellow Jackets, Quakers, or Tigers.  It'll be an exciting weekend in Salem.

Randolph upsets Guilford in Lynchburg, 67-58.

The Eagles get a 3-point victory over the Generals in Bridgewater.

Emory and Henry gets a 1-point win over EMU @ Emory.

Virginia Wesleyan should finish with the #1 seed.

The loser of Wednesday's game between the Tigers and Quakers is likely to be the #4 seed.  The winner would be seeded #2 or #3, depending especially on what happens between the Tigers and Yellow Jackets next Saturday.
