  VWC wins by 2.
I have never seen such a one sided called game as this was! It was a horrible representation of refs! HSC earned that win and the refs took it away from them. And if you were there I don't care what team you were going for, you would have to agree!
So much for the ODAC refs! No whining just facts

Agreed, can we just play without the refs?

I wasn't able to go to the game or listen, but a quick look at the box score tells a story. HSC loses two very important stats that have killed them against VWC this year - FTA/M and turnovers.  HSC was about even or won every other stat. The box score I saw did not show points off turnovers, but I bet that along with an extra 11 points from the foul line is what did HSC in. Both teams were obviously cold from 3-pt range.  Of HSC's 8 loses this year, 5 of them were by a combined total of 10 points, all loses by 3 points or less.  HSC has made strides this year, but they just have to learn how to win the close ones. Vick has them headed in the correct direction.  I am looking forward to some analysis from fans who were at the game.

Turnovers and missed FT happened mostly in the 1st half. True that hurt us, but to be up by 10 pts with 6 minutes left in the game the calls made were definitely not consistent on both sides. HSC will take a lost and learn from it, but to take a lost that was their game is just not fair.
And no we can't play without the refs, they just need to be consistent and call the game fair, that's all I'm saying. Yes, I'm a passionate HSC fan and they won that game, but the final score didn't reflect the true winner. Taking nothing from VWC, they played a good game.

Macon plays its worst half of the season.  How embarrassing to lose to Randolph.

Randolph will lose big again in the championship game.

Jackets play awful in losing to randolph. Is the season over?? Hope not!

The way that RMC played tonight, I'd not vote them in.

I haven't chimed in for several years, but the H-SC v VWC game was simply unbelievable or incomprehensible in several ways.  H-SC held VWC to 33% shooting and outrebounded them.  They did what they needed to do to win the game, but gave it away in the last few minutes.  VWC, to their credit, took full advantage of poor Tiger decision making.

The difference in free throws in the second half is incomprehensible.  VWC took 22; H-SC got 3.  That's right - 3 (three).  Each team took 7 three's, making 1 each.  The rest of the time they were attacking the basket.  Its not like the Tigers were shooting jumpers the whole night.  It was a tough, hard fought game on both ends.  The difference in free throws is difficult to understand.

That being said, the Tigers still had the game in their own hands and failed.  Look at the play by play for the last 4 minutes.  You can see that experienced players took ill-advised shots early in the possession.  There was an unforced turnover.  The Marlins made them pay for each mistake, leading to a bitter loss.

Did not see much of the game, but I was pulling hard for HSC.  It's a tough, tough loss.  Even though it's favorable for RMC that VWC wins out, I was hoping for a HSC/RMC final, well, so much for that.

On another topic and maybe those there can add some comment.  VWC fans often question why they're the 'thugs from the Beach', but tonight I saw two good reasons why.  During the halftime warmups, a VWC player intentionally rolled a ball down the court into the HSC layup drill, disrupting the drill.  Secondly, at the end of the game the VWC players, not a few but all of them, crossed the whole court to taunt the HSC fans, waving 'good-bye' and holding up their jerseys.

VWC = no class.  Hey, VWC, when you go to the NCAAs, do a better job this time of representing the ODAC, unlike before.

What a badly called game.  In the last 5 minutes, VWC must have had 5 3 point plays while driving to the basket whereas H-SC had none and I was sitting just under the HSC basket and you could hear the fouls but no whistles!  On one occassional, it was obviously a contination play but the 2 points were waved off and H-SC had to take the ball out of bounds. On another they called a charge on Jessee when he was held and hacked way before any contact.  The off ball holds by VWC players especially Vaughan under the basket were so obviously through the entire game.  Right at the end of the game, VWC could not get a shot off.  With .2 seconds on the shot clock the ref called an off ball foul on H-SC which  gave VWC 2 shots as they were in the double bonus.  It had nothing to do with the play and was so far away it should not have been a part of a game outcome.  I sat near two of the three HSC/VWC ref's during the 2nd game and wanted to ask them why the difference in foul calling when VWC was so physical but  didn't.  Interestingly, they appeared cocky even then.  I understand that the previous night callings were just as bad.  Not sure how you correct - it was just bad.  On the other hand, HSC had too many turnovers (20 vs 9 for game) in the first half and the 7% 3 point shooting for the game didn't help. Jessee's 3 pointer with about .5 seconds for the win almost went in but it was a tough shot moving left. We will get them next year.  H-SC had a good season and H-SC is back - Ben and Ru will be missed and their SR leadership has put HSC back on the basketball map.  We thank them. The returning Fr Sph JR  have had a lot of play time as Coach Vick was excellant in working a rotation of 12-13 guys.  The team's future is bright.

Definitely agree with all that you've said, HSCDad.  You've given a good description and great examples of the bad officiating.  It was ludicrous at times.  The Tigers played well enough, even with their poor FT shooting and excessive turnovers, that they would beaten tonight one of the very best teams in the country, were it not for the failure of the officials to call fouls on the Tiger end of the court.

As you say, H-SC had an excellent season, finishing 19-8, with 3 of their losses to VWC.  Ben and Ru will be greatly missed, but the team returns juniors George, Ward, Corrigan, Lumpkin, Potopov ... sophomores Williamson, Obradovic, and Wetzel, and freshmen Lewis, Anderson, Hargrove, Smith, Carr, Critzer, and Cleaves ... 11-12 of whom got a lot of playing time this year.  Given how much Williamson, Obradovic, and Wetzel improved from their freshman year to their sophomore year, I expect that some of this year's freshman class will be much improved next year.  Coach Vick will recruit another strong freshman class, as he has done his previous 3 years, and the Tigers will continue to be VERY deep.
