Pat Coleman would likely be the first to point out that what they've put up is just a projection and that RMC's actual opponent has rarely been the opponent projected by d3hoops.com.

Further, even though d3hoops and 2 esteemed "bracketologists" on the Pool C board have all projected RMC to get one of the last 4-6 bids, it is entirely possible that the NCAA committee could leave RMC out, so keep your fingers crossed and tune in to the show at 12pm.

We got the location right and also, the general caliber of opponent (Capital 18-9 vs. Carroll 16-9). I feel pretty good about this.

I'd feel super about getting it that close.  Very impressive, given all the variables involved.

Is it true that St. Mary's plays in a conference that only has 3 teams with winning records?

I'm not sure St. Mary's will get past Bethel in their 1st round game, but I hope that they do .... because they only beat VWC in 2010 by 3 points, when Ford, Teasley, Astorga, and almost all the Marlins were just freshmen, and the St. Mary fans won't be happy about how much better the Marlins have become after playing a few years of college ball.  If the Seahawks are able to get to the Saturday game against VWC, it will not be pretty for them.

I'm guessing that St. Mary's would probably finish 5th, 6th, or 7th if they played in the ODAC.

No.  Four of nine teams had winning records overall and a fifth was .500.  It should also be noted that their #7 team, Salisbury, beat VWC to open the season.

Macon plays its worst half of the season.  How embarrassing to lose to Randolph.

Randolph will lose big again in the championship game.

Were you mad bro?

Anyways good season for Randolph they had heart and competed hard against teams that were taller and more talented then them and found ways to win probably would've won their final game had calls been a little different in the final minute but VWC was just the better team

I missed the 4th CAC team with a winning record, Hasa.

The Salisbury win over VWC at the beginning of the season ranks up there with the Methodist victory over HSC among the most remarkable early-season upsets.

Guilford played 4 straight games against teams that are in the NCAA tournament (except Emory, almost IN, but still on the board when all the Pool C bids were selected):

12/10    vs. Randolph-Macon * •    W, 66-53
12/17    vs. Maryville (Tenn.) •    W, 61-48
12/28    at St. Mary's (Md.)    L, 70-65
12/31    at Emory •    L, 96-84

2 solid wins at home, 2 losses on the road.  What do you know about the Guilford game against St. Mary's, Hasa?

I think we led by 10 in the second half and couldn't hold the lead.  Not sure if it was our mistakes or injuries or what.  I think it's a winnable game for VWC, especially at home.  I believe Guilford would probably have won this game at home as well.

As a VWC alum I am hoping that Bethany takes care of St. Mary's and gets to travel to the beach!  For those that don't know, Bethany Head Coach Andy Sachs was the Assistant Coach as VWC in the mid-90's.  He is a great guy and I wish him the best.

Well I guess it will be a win-win as far as matchups are concerned... I personally want VWC to send St. Mary's home myself. I would thoroughly enjoy that  8-)

No problem.  If I remember correctly, they were farther down in the conference standings despite their overall winning record.

Well, the flip side of that is the utter disappointment if St. Mary's springs the upset ... I still remember the gut-wrenching feeling (with a packed gym) at Guilford in 2008 when the Seahawks beat a great Guilford team in the first round.  If I remember correctly, d3hoops had projected the Quakers to go all the way ... from high to low in two hours!

diehardfan

Not that I am looking ahead or anything, but it would be super awesome if VWC could beat whoever they play by at least 30-40 points so that the NCAA people would have no choice but to have them host the sectionals, and I could see Wheaton live.

Thank you and have a nice day.

;D

PS. Still lots of familiar names around these parts. Hi peoples. :) I'll try to check in more often next season now that I am back in the DC area.
