Great to hear from you, diehardfan!  Are your cookies still as good as they used to be?
Uhmmm, I don't make them as often anymore, but they're still better than most people's cookies. Wait, did I ever give you some? I don't remember doing that...  :-X

Sorry the Jackets lost tonight - the big halftime lead looked promising.  :(  OK, Fish, it's all on you.  Take it to the Seahawks!

Now that is a disappointing way to end the season. One would think that with the extra timeouts adjustments would be easier to make. Thats two in a row. It gave them time ( extra timeouts) to adjust defenses. No never mind I will stop right there.

   Good luck to VWC!!

You mailed them to me.  They were quite tasty!   :P :)

It looked like the Jackets got into foul trouble late in the second half but well after Capital cut the lead unanswered.  Not a great way to end the season, but still a better season than many predicted.

We will really miss seniors Croskey & Desgain but we're looking forward to next season with a good young team.

If you have to pick only 1 team to represent the ODAC in the NCAAs, it'd have to be the Marlins.  GO MARLINS!!!

2RMCFans,  indeed was a very good year for the jackets. Next year however will be IMHO a downer. Hope I am wrong.

Taking just a minute to look beyond the Marlins' anticipated shellacking of St. Mary's ... ;) ... I'm thinking about the location of the sectional next weekend.  The teams that are still left in the sectional are Edgewood (WI), Wheaton (IL), St. Thomas (MN), UW-Whitewater (WI), Whitworth (WA), Trinity (TX), St. Mary's (MD), and VWC (VA).

Given that Edgewood, Wheaton, St. Thomas, and UW-Whitewater are all within 500 miles of each other, the NCAA would only have to fly 2 teams (Whitworth/Trinity and VWC/St. Mary's) to one of those four locations in the midwest, so my bet is that the sectional will very likely be in the midwest IF either UW-Whitewater (24-4, West #1) or Wheaton (22-6, Midwest #2) win tonight.

On the other hand, IF the four teams in the sectional are Edgewood, St. Thomas, Whitworth/Trinity, and VWC, would the NCAA still go with flying only TWO teams to a midwest team -- Edgewood (23-6, Midwest unranked) or St. Thomas (22-6, West #6) -- even though those two teams are clearly lower seeded than VWC (25-3, South #2), or might the NCAA decide to spend some extra $$ and fly THREE teams to VWC?

I hope so too DonHo!! I, too , am disappointed in my beloved Jackets but to stave my disappointment I looked back at my and my other fellow RMC posters(78RMC ,my buddy DonHo and others)and it reminded me that this team wasn't really expected to do as many good things as they did this year. They were, for the most part, very young and very green, and I think closing the way they did(not very attractively)will light a fire under these kids to see what they let slip away.I think, DonHo, that we have a good nucleus coming back of now-experienced kids across the board position-wise and I would like to think that we would be competitive next year!! But now is now-GO KINGFISH!! Go MARLINS!!

The Jackets lose Calvin Croskey and Adam Desgain, but bring back 3 of 5 starters (Lamar Giggetts, Dylan Cole, Marcus Badger) and also key contributors in Andre Simon, Jamie Robinson, and Trent Walker.  RMC will have a good to great recruiting class, as always.  It seems to me that the Yellow Jackets will have, as usual, the makings of a team that should compete with the best in the ODAC.

R-MC's look next year depends on what happens from now until october with the current freshmen. Why? Because last night the freshmen played like freshmen. After 26 games they should not be playing like freshmen.

I mentioned on the CCIW board earlier that I thought that VWC is already clearly the top seed in this part of the bracket, due to their bye despite the fact that there are sooooooo many options of lower ranked drivable schools to them. I think it's pretty unlikely that Wheaton would host (though if they had won the automatic bid they would have had a decent chance), as I really doubt they were #2 in the final Regional Rankings. No way it goes to Edgewood and St. Thomas, unless they want to anger the entire DIII world. I know they like doing that, but either of them hosting would be seriously ridiculous and a mockery to the tournament bracket. Whitewater has a pretty good shot at hosting but while VWC did nothing but win three games between the last public regional regional ranking and the bracket selections, Whitewater lost their conference tourney and got in on a pool c after adding only one win with their one loss. They've also gotta be at least an hour from any serious airport, so it's really like 2 flights and 4 bus rides. 8-) :P I really think that the hosting slot goes to VWC regardless.

Or this might all be wishful thinking since I want to watch Wheaton live without having to drive 13 hours or shelling out $500 for a last minute ticket. ;)

So yeah, go VWC, win by 40! Leave no doubt!  :D
