All five of those teams have made at least one Final Four Appearance during that time as well.

The ODAC has 6 teams from 4 colleges that have made it to the Final Four over the past 10 years:

2003: Hampden-Sydney
2004:
2005:
2006: Virginia Wesleyan
2007: Virginia Wesleyan
2008:
2009: Guilford
2010: Guilford, Randolph-Macon
2011:
2012:

The NESCAC is the only DIII conference that has more teams (9) that have made the Final Four over the same period of time.

That's impressive isn't it, Algernon. How many days til basketball season begins???????? 8-)
Go Marlins, Go ODAC!

I'm just guessing that October 13 is the first practice date .... and that November 13 will be the first day of games .... so let's say that it is 214 days until the start of practice and 245 days until the first games.   ;) ;D :D

Pat Coleman

Until there's a rule change, both those dates are Oct. 15 and Nov. 15, as they have been for the past few years. It does not float with the day of the week in order to start on Friday any longer.

Thanks for the info, Pat .... so it is 216 days until the start of practice and 247 days until the first games.  Just around the corner!

Between Algernon and Pat Coleman, the depth of knowledge is incredible. It makes my head hurt ;D

algernon, thanks for assembling the Elite Eight information.  Great 10 years by the ODAC.  +1

Thanks, hasa.  It's a great 10 years, for sure.  It could continue, given the high-quality coaches in this league!
I sure hope so.  The Quakers need to find another 6'10" diamond in the rough.  We got spoiled with Strong and Sanborn back-to-back!

ODAC representation to the d3hoops All South  - DJ Woodmore  1st Team and Colton Hunt and Harrision George on the 2nd Team - good show and all back next year for even more enjoyment - Congratulation to all three for their great seasons

Strong and Sanborn back-to-back .... That was really unbelievable.  How many times does that kind of talent end up on the same team, one playing in the shadow of, and then taking the position of, the other?

The closest I've seen in the ODAC was probably Jared Mills (RMC '04) and Justin Wansley (RMC '07).  In '03-'04, HSC fans would have been happy to see Jared Mills go to the bench except that the freshman Wansley would then come off the bench to take his place!

It was rare, to be sure.  Strong blossomed his sophomore season and Sanborn his junior, but both were a National POY.  They played together for two seasons and gave each other a workout in practices.  I'll have to say, Sanborn made the most dramatic improvement from freshman to senior season, but Strong was just naturally good.

Adair & Balenga, now that was a awesome force

The Marlins loss in the Elite Eight was to the National Champion, UW-Whitewater!  Given this, I expect that their final ranking could be as high as #4, below Whitewater, Cabrini, and MIT, although it might possibly be as low as #8, if they are also ranked below IWU, Hope, F&M, and Amherst.

Must be some really good players outside the ODAC since they went through 20 players before the one and only ODAC player was mentioned on the 2011-12 Div III All-American team - DJ Woodmore as a Honorable Mention.  Obvious that making it to the final 16 or 8 is important to get a player ranked.
