Snipes' shot is still my favorite video ever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6mRHgUH2H4&feature=youtube_gdata_player
If you're a Guilford College fan, it'll never get old.  I'm sure RMC folks see this like a bad dream.

Hampden-Sydney folks are always Guilford fans when the other team on the court is Randolph-Macon ... ;)

Ben Strong's response, after the ball swishes the net, is great.
Ben was a freshman that year - notice how he had to duck to keep from getting hit with Snipes' heave.  Saw an ESPN feature on "Top Ten game winning long-distance shots" (or something along those lines) and this was #6.  I was listening on the net that night and couldn't believe it when the announcer said it went in!  I watched ESPN's Top Ten Plays of the Day later that night and they ran it at #9, #7, #5, #3 and #1.  :)

Snipes' heave for a 3 is still the best EVER ;D

It's hard to beat a full-court shot with 0.6 second.  The buzzer goes off while in flight - you miss it, you lose; you make it, you win!

Nova - it will never be rivaled or duplicated...it's too perfect.

It's a classic, that's for sure!

badcall!

Good article on former BC star Ricky Easterling.  Great to read about him still doing well in Europe.  Not many DIII guys last this long over there.

Nice release ... and it's interesting that Dee has named all five seniors as captains for next year:

the gyms are quiet; the weight rooms are quiet; recruiting is at a high pitch; school is coming to a close; HOW MANY DAYS TIL OPENING TIP OFF?? Algernon can tell us this. Nova can predict. DeWayne Carter can fill us in on the 2012/2103 Fish. Others - report in. Ugh, I need basketball.  :o

Yeah, me too.  I've been trying to google (Guilford) recruits to see if I can find anything and zilch.  It's hoops withdrawal!  lol

Norfolk Christian 5-foot-10 point guard Michael Murray fit the description of a player that gets the most out of his abilities and leaves it all on the floor. Often going up against guards bigger and stronger than him, he still found ways to have a positive effect on the game.

Following a decorated career with the Ambassadors where he won consecutive State Championships at the private school level during his sophomore and junior seasons, Murray has committed to play Division III College Basketball for Coach Dee Vick and the Hampden-Sydney Tigers.

"After praying about it and talking it over with my family, I chose HSC. We all felt that this was the best place for me to grow as a man, grown as a player and be successful after college as well," Murray told VirginiaPreps.com."I think I will bring leadership, a different speed to the game and open the floor with my ability to knock down the open shot, plus create for others."
