Don't know about theregular season sweep, but I do know it does not happen often.

Your opinion; is HSC that good or is RMC an average team ? I don't pretend to know the answer.

I was told by good authority 1999-2000 was the last regular season sweep, but haven't checked it myself.  Looks like Algernon needs to get to work.  :)

My opinion is the Tigers are the best team in the ODAC this year.  I think R-MC is a young team and this is a learning year, but it's too late in the season now to use as an excuse (if there is ever is).  We were playing good ball going into the game on Wednesday and it was in Ashland, yet we still lost by 19 points.  VWC, Guilford, and Randolph are also in the conversation, but the Tigers are the best team, in my humble, objective opinnion.

My picks for tomorrow:
Eastern Mennonite @ Randolph-Macon - 2:00 PM  EMU in a close one, the running will hurt Macon more than help
  Bridgewater @ Hampden-Sydney - 2:00 PM  HSC in a blow out
Virginia Wesleyan @ Guilford - 3:00 PM  Going for a mini upset as Guilford has had good success against VWC at home
Shenandoah @ Roanoke - 3:30 PM  Pretty much SUs last real shot at beating someone in the ODAC
Lynchburg @ Emory and Henry - 4:00 PM  Lc by 10 or more
Washington and Lee @ Randolph - 4:30 PM  Randolph has had W and Ls number especially when playing at home

Jacketlawyer......I think we are incredibly average and HSC is incredibly good!! That being said....ALWAYS LOOK OUT for VWC!! Macedo is just "That Good"!! If they are victorious in Greensboro tomorrow-WATCH OUT!!
On an unrelated note.....I saw on the Norfolk sportscast on the NBC Affiliate, WAVY, that Former RMC Head Coach and VCU Assistant Mike Rhoades was one of the front runners for the ODU job now vacant because of the firing of long-time coach Blaine Taylor.I haven't seen it substantiated anywhere else but ODU couldn't get a better man!! Hope Mike is in the running!! Tough Guy-GREAT Coach-Even better person.......Good Luck Mike!!

The last regular season sweep of Macon by the Tigers was 1999-2000 when the Tigers were undefeated until the ODAC Championship game and lost to Roanoke and then to Maryville in the 2nd round of the NCAAs to finish 26-2.  There were two seasons when Macon and Sydney split since then where Macon's victory was by one point.  During the 1998-99 season HSC defeated Macon 4 times.

If Rhoades becomes the head coach at ODU he would be the second former R-MC coach to lead the Monarchs. Paul Webb left R-MC for ODU in the 1975-76 season.

There was an article in the Norfolk paper this morning,The Virginian-Pilot,that names Mike among 8 or 9 others in the running for the job......The AD said someone would be hired before the Final Four the first week of April.Would LOVE to see Mike in our Hampton Roads area-where he would join former H-SC coach Tony Shaver, who's at William and Mary.

Looking like VWC will pull out the W in Greensboro, they lead Guilford 68-59 with 18 seconds to go

70-62 VWC wins at Guilford for the first time since the 06-07 season

So the Marlins @ HSC game on Wednesday is for the #1 seed in the ODAC tournament (unless the Marlins win but then get upset by Lynchburg at the Beach on Saturday the 16th).  I just assume a Tiger victory at E&H on Saturday the 16th ....

Tigers are undoubtedly the best team that Hampden-Sydney has seen since 2003.  Those of us who have been watching this season have been making various comparisons to the 1999 Finalist team and the 2003 Final Four team.  We like Harrison and Khobi in the paint as well as, or better than, any pair we have ever seen at Hampden-Sydney!  Cam Anderson and Fletcher Lumpkin have been doing great whenever they have been on the court instead.   Leon and Mike are a great tandem at the point guard position, while Keegan Wetzel, Greg Lewis, and Kodie Critzer have been wonderful at the 2-3 spots.  Patrick Corrigan is contributing big time in recent games, going 2-5 from behind the arc today and getting 8 points and 3 assists in 17 minutes of action.  The Tigers are easily 10 deep, and there have even been good minutes contributed by another 2-3 players!  This is an incredibly good team ... very fast, with solid defense, and a great team chemistry that seems to get better as the season progresses.  They are as good as any team I have seen at Hampden-Sydney in 19 years of watching Tiger basketball.

For the rest of the ODAC:

Roanoke barely beats SU 65-61, Roanoke didn't get the lead until there was a 56 seconds left in the game  :-\

LC is beating E and H 58-72  9 minutes left in the game

Randolph is beating W and L 38-37 with 15 minutes left in the game
