Who all will be at the Fleet tonight? I will be making an appearance in my finest VWC attire  8-)

How fine is your finest?  Will you be wearing a tuxedo ... or a baggy no-sleeve basketball jersey?

Be nice and respectful.

Too bad VWC fans will be left at the door like RMC does to us every year !!!!!!!!!

This is my projection for the 2nd NCAA South Regional Ranking, which is due out Wednesday.  I've included games thru today.  I doubt that the NCAA will include more than 8 teams in their ranking.

Regional and overall records and SoS:

1.  Hampden-Sydney  (ODAC)      19-2        21-2     .519
2.  Mary Hardin-Baylor  (ASC)      20-3        20-3     .538
3.  Concordia (Texas) (ASC)         16-4         18-5     .544
4.  Emory (UAA)                         15-6         15-6       .567
5.  Virginia Wesleyan  (ODAC)       14-5         17-6     .530
6.  Christopher Newport  (USAC)  14-5         15-5     .535
7.  Centre (SAA)                          10-3         16-4       .512
8.  Randolph (ODAC)                  13-4         19-4       .495
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
9.  Lynchburg (ODAC)               14-5         18-5       .485

New South Rankings are just a little different from my projection:

1   Hampden-Sydney   17-2   21-2
2   Mary Hardin-Baylor   20-3   20-3
3   Emory   15-6   15-6
4   Virgina Wesleyan   14-5   17-6
5   Concordia ( Texas)   16-4   18-5
6   Christopher Newport   14-5   15-5
7   Randolph   13-4   19-4
8   Texas-Dallas   17-6   17-6

Dave 'd-mac' McHugh

By the way, they are not allowed to include more than 8 teams in their rankings. 6.5:1 ratio only allows 8 teams in the South Region to be ranked.

HSC up 10, 40-30 at half.  Large crowd on hand.

Seatfiller

VWC and HSC put on a very good game if you watched you pretty much knew it would come down to a last second shot, VWC gets the win by one 79-78

HSCDad

H-SC up 13 at one time VWC up by 11 at one time in 2nd half  VWC scored with 7 sec to win by 1    VWC 3 pointers plus a lot of foul shots did it for them

rmc1982

I hate to say "I told you so"......but NEVER EVER bet against Macedo with his back against the wall!!....Really......This one doesent really mean much but maybe a seeding.....the tourney game(if it happens) will mean MUCH MORE......VWC just has so much raw talent that when they pull it together....well.....what happened in Fleet tonite just happens....HSC is not invincible....and VWC is not THAT good either, depending on which team shows up.....The rest of this just gets more interesting!!......JWW amd DeWayne.....can't wait to hear from you guys!!Should be a great next few weeks!!

Limited service out here... Ill have more to say when I get back home to my computer, but what I will say was that it was a hell of a game by both teams, hell of a finish, and a hell of an atmosphere... More to come!

YIPPPPEE!!!!  Well, we didn't play our best basketball certainly,  but neither did the Tigers.  Way too many turnovers by both teams, too many mistakes by both, but it was a hellavaa game.  Great intensity, drama, but the Marlins pulled out a squeaker.  NEVER count the Marlins out.  I am really looking forward to the ODAC tournament and a possible rematch with the TIGERS.  WTGGGGGGG Marlins...Congrats to both teams for a great game!!

Brian Hamilton

Congrats to the Marlins.  They hit huge shots in the second half and the loose balls that HSC got in the 1st half went there way.  They made too many three pointers and shot 84% from the foul line.  The refs let this game get out of control in the first half and it showed in the second half.  I don't know what Mike Murray did to get a technical, but I still can't figure out how VWC did not have at least one technical.  There were at least two times I thought they should've gotten one.  Those calls help the Tigers if they are made but still don't guarantee a win because of HSC's foul shooting.  The Tigers were done in by a 27-5 run during a stretch in the 2nd half after getting up 13.  I look forward to a rematch in Salem.

Congrats to Macon, GC, RaC, W&L, and EMU, tonight's other winners. Still a lot to be determined by Saturday's games.

Absolutely!  Just to clarify, I know Seeds 1-4 get a first round bye, but does this year's ODAC tournament format give Seeds 5-8 another home game versus Seeds 9-12 before the quarterfinals move to Salem?
