My congratulations to the Yellow Jackets as well.  :)  I'm still recovering from GC's gut-wrenching loss to RMC in the quarterfinals.  lol  Go RMC!  Go ODAC!

BTW, congratulations also to the Lady Quakes for this afternoon's ODAC championship - their second in a row.  At 24-4, I hope Guilford can be a host next weekend.

Well done RMC...You deserved the win.  The " other" Marlin team showed up today but it was a great win, nevertheless.  Hopefully 3 teams from the ODAC will go to the dance.  Good luck to all of us!!! Anxiously awaiting tomorrow's NCAA's  selections.   WTG ODAC!!!

What a win today... not sure it mattered which Marlin team showed up b/c the Jackets were just not going to be denied.  Congrats to our men who beat the odds by keeping cool heads, playing together & playing DEFENSE!  A good sign for the future is that 2 R-MC sophs (Akeem Holmes & Joe Hassell) and a junior (Andre Simon) made the all-tournament team -- and big congrats to Simon for MVP.  He really earned it.  We hated seeing Sr. Dylan Cole on the sidelines with an injury, and hope it's quick to heal.  As for our only other Sr., Lamar Giggetts, what a contributor!  They will both be missed next season.

Congrats to VWC for a great season w/surely a chance to do some damage during the NCAA's.

We're not big on predictions, so we'll just wait like everyone else for news of "who goes where to do what".
Best wishes to all the strong contenders for bids in the South Region.

Tonight, we're VERY proud of our coach, our players & our conference.

Hasanova, we were in your crowd today rooting your women on.  Although they took us out in the quarters, they impressed us with their composure & court skills.  Hope they go long in the tourney & congrats to them on another title.  Maybe next year, our really young team can given them some competition?

GOOOOOO JACKETS!!!!

Congrats to RMC on the ODAC tourney title today. It was a good game, but the Marlins were done in in the 2nd half by getting bullied inside and not getting alot of calls to go their way. RMC came to play today and earned a bid to the tourney.

Good luck to all the ODAC teams!

Thanks, 2RMCFans.  Hope the Jackets, Quakers and, hopefully, other ODAC teams go deep in their tournaments!

Don't mean this to come out the wrong way DeWayne but we beat you at your own game today.....then you lost your cool in the 2nd half and it went downhill from there......period.     That's all.....your shots didn't fall and you got frustrated....I honestly think your guys will regroup and possibly go deep in the tourney.I also think the Tigers will too.We got hot at the right time and I hope it continues for us.Nathan has a proven record when he comes in with a hot team.....if we win next weekend watch out....Good Luck to all and especially your guys....both of the top two teams should host, and you guys are tough in The Tank...we're going on the road.....I think we'll at least be competitive.....GEAUX JACKETS!!

H-SC to projected to play St. Vincent on Saturday in the first round.  They are the PrAC champs at 15-1 in conference and 23-5 overall.  Not nationally ranked - only common game, VWC beat them 88-63 at first game of season. They appear under the radar!! Won OT game to get number one seeding and then made up 8 points to win conference championship so worked hard to get there. RMC projected to play Rampo on neutral site and VWC to play Stevens at home - RMC and VWC in same bracket and could meet in second round on March 9.  Long gaps in game times due to delay to have finals in Atlanta with other NCAA divisions (start March 2nd - end April 7 for 6 games for champ).  Rampo is ranked 18th and Stevens 27th.

Pat Coleman and company put together a great bracket, but the actual NCAA bracket will have a similar framework but different matchups.  The Selection Show is at  http://www.ncaa.com/sports/basketball-men/d3 at 12:30pm.

I diagree with Pat seeding us so we play VWC in the 2nd round, but I do think we'll be close-like at HSC, Catholic,or St Mary's(which have all three beaten us this year.I think the reason we played stronger at the end of the season is the schedule Nathan had us play.We could even be at the Freeman Center at CNU(Which also beat us-but early)Which would be the  best deal for myself and DonHo-we live in Hampton Roads!! You never can tell where they'll send you......The only thing I DO KNOW is that we won't be in the friendy confines of Crenshaw Gym!!

I'm gonna have to disagree. The Marlins are a guard oriented team, and RMC realized that and pounded the ball inside to the plethora of bigs they have. VWC only has one back to the basket big man in Colby Heard. the other 5, Trent Batson, is more of a defensive player and Cam Owens and Chris Astorga are both stretch 4's. I don't recall RMC making more than 5 or 6 jump shots last night. They just pounded the ball inside and shot layups on the way to 55% shooting for the game. If they weren't scoring inside, they were still pounding it inside and drawing fouls.

rmc1982 ... I agree with all that you've said, except that it would be highly unusual for the NCAA to have RMC visit HSC or VWC in the first round.

On the other hand, recent history suggests that they might visit HSC or VWC in the second or third round (if the ODAC teams were to win that far).  It's also possible that RMC might be sent to a quarter of the bracket where they couldn't possibly match-up with another ODAC team until the national semis or final.

Algernon-I remember when Tony Shaver was coaching and you guys were in the top 10 they sent us to you either in the 1st or second round-I remember cause I was scrambling for a ticket and couldn't get one-you guys didn't send us many and even my H-SC friends couldn't help me.I think it was around the turn of the century to 2003-one of those years you went to the Final Four I think.I thought it was strange of the NCAA back then but they've done worse-like NOT letting us host a couple of years ago.
DeWayne-yes we DID pound it inside which has historically been Macedo-type hard-nosed basketball! VWC has ALWAYS played that way-they don't have as many big bodies as they have in the past and thats what beat them-Their own style of play!! If I was a coach playing them that would be my strategy-which could very well backfire if they're hitting their jumpers-something they did not do in both of our meetings with you.Hard-nosed defense and rebounding has ALWAYS been a Macedo trademark- we just did it yesterday better.
