Yeah... that is software the NCAA mandates... even Hope who uses another stat program is forced to use the NCAA's when they host an event.

I think that it was good that the final four was held in conjunction with the D1 final four. It put D3 basketball on display to alot of folks who otherwise wouldnt watch the game. Only tweak I would make would be to have the game on CBS instead of CBS college sports.

Only the title game was in Atlanta; the Elite Eight and Final Four games were in Salem - FIFTEEN days before the title game.  The overall schedule would have to be drastically re-worked before I could support the change.  And obviously we'd all prefer CBS itself over CBS College Sports (which comparatively few of us get), but that is CBS's call, alas, not ours.  IF the NCAA played 'hardball' in negotiations, it would probably happen, but don't hold your breath. :P

That's what I meant to say... anyway they schedule could be tweaked by adding a couple more games to the reg. season. Two weeks is roughly 2-4 more games isnt it?

There's no way that's going to happen. We'd have to adjust our schedule to start the season later.

Not to belabor this point, though, since we discussed it extensively on Hoopsville and on other conversations here on D3boards.

badcall!

Anybody heard any word on the vacant E&H job?  I have heard that several prospective coaches turned the job down but that is just speculation.

I've actually heard the same, I had a friend that went through the process but got cut from it a couple of weeks ago after attending an on campus interview, I think someone will accept the job real soon though.

Emory and Henry's new coach is David Wilson

Haven't heard of him but hes a HSC graduate so I'm guessing some people on the board have.

E&H made a great hire. He will have them competitive in the odac is short order.

Old #44 played against Coach Wilson for several years. Nice guy and will be a great coach!

when Tony Shaver has nothing but great things to say about as a person and a coach, you've got to believe Coach Willson is built from the right stuff to get the job done.

All in the Family ;D.....

Guilford Head Coach Tom Palombo is a VWC grad
E&H Head Coach David Wilson is a HSC grad
RMC Head Coach Nathan Davis is a RMC grad
Lynchburg Head Coach Hilliary Scott is a Roanoke grad
HSC Coach Dee Vick is a HSC grad
And with apologies to the longest tenured ODAC Coach, Page Moir, for not knowing where he went to college, I am making the assumption that he attended Roanoke because of his father's time there as gead coach.

Not bad - 50% with Coach Moir in the mix :)

Coach Moir played at Virginia Tech

David Willson is one of my all-time favorite Hampden-Sydney players!  Hustle, hustle, hustle .... David was 100% all of the time, when he played for the Tigers.  He started on the 2003 HSC Final Four team, along with Jeff Monroe, Brandon Randall, Lane Brooks, and Marcus Gregory.

David was an assistant coach for a year with Tony Shaver at William and Mary, and then coached for 4 years at Elon and 4 years at Furman.  Emory and Henry is very fortunate to get him.

The Tigers' schedule is out .... Williams comes to Kirby Fieldhouse on January 2.  That should be an exciting game, to go with the usual excitement of 2 ODAC games against Virginia Wesleyan and 2 against the hated Yellow Jackets ... ;)

Glad to see HSC adding Williams; great program from the best D3 conference in the country, my opinion. Can only help the Tigers  prepare for the tough ODAC run.
