I hate that gym - it's about as much fun as watching a game being played in the bottom of a swimming pool.
Probably seems that way because I was told their gym was the former Randolph swimming pool.

Glad to see my argument holds water.  :)

Will the Quakers get enough respect to earn an at large? You have to think if they maintain their position at the top of the table (especially if they get that win in Crenshaw) they'll finally move into the top 25. We'll have to see when the Regional Rankings come out, but there seem to be four legitimate Pool C threats in the ODAC: RM-C, VWC, Guilford, and LC. We might be looking at another 4-bid year for the conference.

I am posting with this name for the first time.  Lost all data in the big computer crash of '13.  I worked as the Sports Information Director for EMC/U back in the early-mid 90s.  Glad to see Coach Dean (and Coach Griffin) moving the Royals programs forward.  I see not many people are posting about the Royals so I will put in the link from last night.  http://www.emuroyals.com/sports/mbkb/2013-14/releases/20140129hov7vw Looks like they are on a mini-roll.  Hard to follow from Southcentral PA, but I try.
Welcome back, EMUOldTimer.  Good to see the Royals represented!  Not too many supporters since the Elite Eight run in 2014. +1
Is that a Freudian slip withe 2014 :-)

The Quakers were as high as 17th early in the season - easy to do when you're 9-0 and lots of other teams have 1 or 2 early losses.  All it takes is a disastrous 3-game losing streak to Dickinson, Birmingham Southern and Messiah and, poof!, you're out of the Top 25 until you can earn your way back in late in the season.  I hope we win the ODAC regular season and ODAC tournament, but I think we need to stay at 6 or fewer losses to take away the doubters.

I think a 4-bid year is highly improbable, given the ODAC's fairly poor out-of-conference performance.

Guilford played only 2 OOC teams that have a good shot at the NCAAs (Dickinson, Messiah) and lost to both by substantial margins.  To get a Pool C, I think they'd need to win 6 of their last 7, including either RMC or VWC, and then get another win in the semis against a top ODAC team.  Then they'd be 21-6, with a 3-3 record against the top of the ODAC.

Lynchburg is in a similar situation, with a 14-4 record but no OOC games against likely regionally ranked opponents.  They still haven't beaten any of the best in the ODAC, and are going to have to play a whole lot different in their upcoming games against Guilford, HSC, RMC, and VWC than they did in their 9-point loss to RMC and 27-point loss to VWC, if they are to get a Pool C. In my opinion, they'll need to win at least 3 of those 4 games against RMC, GC, HSC, and VWC, and then get to the tournament final, finishing 22-6.

Randolph-Macon played Scranton and Cabrini close and has solid wins against Dickinson and VWC.  They might get a Pool C bid even at 20-7 or 20-8.  Their upcoming games against Guilford and Hampden-Sydney are at home, which doesn't hurt them.  Their prospects for playing in the tournament are excellent, unless they start playing terribly different than they are now.

VWC had a very close home win against Emory but lost to CNU and Mary Washington.  They've beaten up on Guilford, and narrowly beat the Tigers, but were handily beaten by RMC.  What is going to happen in their upcoming games at Lynchburg, Randolph, and Guilford, and in their home contest against the Tigers?  They seem somewhat unpredictable this year.

Finally, the Tigers ... whose insanely unlikely Pool C bid might conceivably happen if they won every game from now until their 1-point 2OT loss to RMC in the ODAC Championship game.  ... ;) .. Then they'd be 20-9, with a 1-2 record against the Yellow Jackets, a 1-1 record against the Marlins, wins against #32 Springfield and #12 Mary Washington and close losses to #9 Wesley and #11 Williams.  But, seriously, that wouldn't even be quite enough.  They just have to win the tournament.

No video feed for VWC-BC. I would have paid $7.99 just to watch that one. Must be the snow?

Strange game tonight  VWC 69  Bridgewater   58   Bridgewater 0 for 6 for 3 pointers/VWC was 7 for 22 - overall shooting  VWC 37%  Bridgewater 33% (must have been cold weather) - guard from Bridgewater (Stapleton) had 11 rebounds - Reddick had 29 points against VWC with no 3's - Woodmore had 18  Strange stats

algernon, you recapped the ODAC quite nicely and accurately - as usual.  Thanks.  +1

So getting down to the home stretch who do you all have for the All-ODAC awards. First team i would think would be something like this:
Woodmore(VWC), Simon(RMC), Williamson(HSC),Greeen(SU),Mccarthy(GC),Hernandez(LC), Crump(EMU). I know thats to many names but i believe it would consist of most of these names. POY i think is between Simon and Woodmore right now. Think Green from SU will get votes but believe his teams not in the top 4 so he wont win it. Freshmen of the year i think is between Moore (VWC) and Hyatt (GC) both have been playing at a high level. I think right now Coach of the Year would hands down be Hillary Scott from Lynchburg. Interested to see what other posters all-odac picks look like right now

Lynchburg's Zack Burnett has to be right at the top of the list, if not the very top, for Rookie of the Year.

After seeing David Falk and Khobi Williamson go head-to-head, Falk has to be in First-Team All-ODAC discussion. He gave Khobi a run for his money for best center on the court when H-SC went to EMU.

This is a nice article about POY candidate Andre Simon in today's Richmond paper:

http://www.timesdispatch.com/sports/college/basketball/simon-becomes-impact-player-for-r-mc/article_8bd86bf7-95d4-5cc4-9a37-20626629a5f5.html

Of all the men's teams we've watched over the years at R-MC, this one seems the most "team-oriented" & Simon notes that in his comments.  Congrats to him on his achievements.

Good luck to all around the ODAC today.

GO JACKETS!!

Yes forgot about burnett but i wouldnt put him ahead of moore. Moores is playing 8 less minutes per game and stats are almost the same with moore averaging more points and burnette having more reb per game. They are both from the same area and played on the same AAU team so should be a good battle between the 2 today
