RMC is on fire. Can anybody slow them down ? When was the last time the same school won both the regular season and conference tourney ?

Pretty sure the 30-3 (14-2) Guilford 2010 Final Four team did, although they were tied for first with the 25-5 (14-2) EMU Royals.

ODAC Partners with Rising Up Sports to Launch ODAC.tv http://www.odaconline.com/odac/2013-14/releases/020314-odac-tv-launch
QuoteInternet web streaming is about to reach a new level, just in time for the winter championship season. Today, ODAC announced its launch of ODAC.tv, a partnership with Rising Up Sports that will present a more immersive Internet web streaming experience for fans, parents, alumni and supporters of some of the best student-athletes and programs that NCAA Division III has to offer.

And a key point, which I warned you folks about.
QuoteODAC.tv will be a pay-TV and sponsor supported venture for live viewing, affording the conference and its member schools a new source of revenue with which to augment the championship experience and other features of the conference's athletic offerings.

Does this mean the ODAC will be taking over all broadcasting of all the games of all the member institutions in all the sports and determine what to live stream and what not to live stream? Or is this just for ODAC tournaments with individual schools still able to make their own decisions about live streaming their regular season home games?

For now just ODAC Tournament/Championships stuff

Wonder if this will have any impact on attendance at the tournament in Salem?  Or, hopefully, just expand the audience to all those people who don't make the trip.

ODAC tournament games were already being broadcast.

Cabrini has now won 32 of their last 33 games.  Their only loss was in the NCAAs last year to Amherst, the National Champion.   Wow.

R-MC slowly moving up towards top 25. One at a time Jackets, one at a time.

RMC absolutely should be in the top 25 already.  They are the best team in the ODAC right now. I don't understand why they aren't but I am certain they will be in the weeks to come.

Considering I added RMC to my poll this week... after taking a long, hard look... I think the beginning of the season turned voters off. It is hard to ignore that start when it was similar to last season's but not against the same talent-type teams. What finally got me thinking in the last few weeks is I had VWC in my poll, but I knew they weren't at the top of the conference. I thought about Guilford, but they still seemed to be recovering from their three-game slide and I wasn't confident they had really figured things out. I then took a look at RMC and last week waited just to see how they would finish their gauntlet... they destroyed Guilford and that was all the excuse I needed (along with another VERY strong SOS) to place them in my poll... and rather high up.

I think voters will continue to take notice and it won't be long if RMC continues to win to see them in the Top 25 and ahead of VWC.

Listening to the interview with Coach Davis after the R-MC/Guilford game, it was clear that he had the team prepared to play in such a way that if they could (a) do what he prepared them to do offensively and actually get the shots they were after to fall, and (b) execute on the defensive end, that they stood a good chance of winning that game. As it turned out, these things worked out about as well as you can expect. That doesn't always happen. I was also interested that, in the interview, he took personal responsibility for the November loss at Guliford, saying he did not have the team prepared as well defensively as he should have at that stage of the season and used the words "That's all on me." This guy can really coach and get a team to improve as the season progresses.

In spite of all that, there are no sure wins in the ODAC. There are lots of "should win" games, but virtually no gimmes for the teams at the top of the standings over the teams at the bottom of the standings.

As for where R-MC should be ranked nationally, it's nice to get the recognition, but the only thing that really matters is the next game. Playing at Bridgewater tomorrow night is not going to be easy.

D-Mac,
I am at a loss as to how one justifies Wittenburg and Augustana  being ranked above Randolph-Macon and being included in the Top 25.  Their record at the beginning of the season included a loss to a D2 school. The mind boggles .....
Thanks.

If you look at the number of votes... you will see the 25 voters are really torn with probably the bottom ten of their ballots... considering Augustana lost 272 points and is barely hanging on to the Top 25 with a total of 45 teams getting votes. I think RMC has been lost due to their start and Guilford and VWC getting more attention of late. Also, there are so many good teams this year it isn't that hard to overlook teams you probably should have noticed earlier.

I don't know anything about Wittenberg, but I've watched Augustana a couple of times online, including their really good home win over a loaded-with-talent and current #5 Illinois Wesleyan. The CCIW is every bit as strong a conference as the ODAC. It's no wonder the pollsters have a hard time with their ballots. It's a lot harder for the people voting on the D3 top 25 to know all they need to know about teams than it is for the folks ranking the D1 teams.

If the ODAC is as goods as advertised the #1 team in the conference should be getting more attention on a national basis based on several factors. Hopefully this will happen sooner than later.
