Paul Webb left RMC to become the HC at ODU in the early 70's and he was successful. You are referring to his son.

Great article on Coach Rhoades:  http://www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/article/Mike-Rhoades-fulfills-a-dream-at-Rice-5357669.php#/0

Congratulations and very best wishes to him!
Absolutely.  Best wishes to Coach Rhoades and the Rice Owls.  By the way, there is no truth to the rumor that Jordan Snipes's younger brother is being recruited by an opposing Conference USA school to play basketball.  :)

I'm referring to the same Paul Webb as you, the one who was succeeded by Hal Nunnaly.  Maybe you misread my post.

Must have misread, we're on the same page

You've been around the ODAC for a while. How many 'D-1 transfers' have been impact players in the ODAC?

This one will have an impact; absolutely no question. I watched him for three years in HS and saw him on TV this past season, he can play and HSC will be a better team with him on it.

I hope that the new Tiger you're referring to is a solid inside player, since we're losing Khobi ... and also Sasha, Fletcher, Keegan, and Stephen Vassor.

I thought Vassor just finished his freshman year. What happened ?

Oh for goodness sakes, drop the name. Don't tease. Nobody likes an "I know something you don't know" post.

He's transferring to ODU.  My understanding is that he's decided he wants to major in engineering, and he can't do that at HSC.

I hope that works out for him. I know HSC has several 6'8'' kids enrolling next year. Don't know anything about them however. Sounds like they will see plenty of action as a freshman. The kid I'm referring to is not a "big"; 6'4'' swing player probably playing the 2 or 3 spot. Can really shoot the three ball and solid on the defensive end. Good rebounder for his size.
