Got a chance to see the Marlins in open gym and all I can say is they have a chance to be scary good. The loss of DJ Woodmore definitely will hurt but they have a few new guys who can step in and try and fill that void. They Return Starters Cameron Owens and Greg Montgomery who will be looked at for Leadership along with Sr Pg Breven Lyons but the newcomers will definitely help these guys out. Khory Moore is going to be special. I saw this kid make some next level plays while I was there. He should definitely be in the conversation for ODAC POY at the end of the year

Nick Doyle- 6'4 Wing who transferred from Deleware State. Originally comitted to VWC out of hs but was later offered by del state and chose to go there.

Tim Jones- 5'7 PG. was the 2013 Virginia AAA State player of the year for Henrico who won the state championship. spent a year at a Juco before coming to VWC. Very scrappy and athletic. Kid rose up and threw one down while I was there whch I did not expect.

Nick Douglas- 6'2 guard from christchurch. Had a lot of D1 interests from the likes of Richmond, george mason and VCU.

Expect this Marlin team to be very very good defensively. Basketball season is right around the corner.
What happened to Sedric Nady? Noticed he is not on the roster.

Interesting fact:  D.J. Woodmore and Khobi Williamson both starting and playing for the same team  in Germany.  WTG ODAC!

Yes, here is some info on the team, along with a link to their website. Good luck trying to figure out anything on that website if you don't know German. Google's translation on there was horrendous when I was writing up the story.

The team's website on Eurobasket is in English, but I don't know how often it gets updated and how accurate it is given it's a German B league team (B league 0s the equivalent of the NBA Development League)

It does look like Woodmore is leading the team in scoring while Khobi is second and scoring and first in rebounding, but they have only played two games.

On another note, former Bridgewater star Ricky Easterling is in the same league as Khobi and DJ, and they played against each other in the season opener. Easterling nearly dropped a triple double on Khobi and DJ's squad.

We try to make it a habit to only recruit good players haha

understood and it sounds like u are not going to spill the beans on our bigs. i get that. i guess we'll find out soon enough how they are able to compete at this level. i'll check them out after football is done. hopefully that will not be for awhile.

I don't really have much to spill. I don't really have any frame of reference to compare them to since they are all playing against each other since our only returning big, Mitch Owens, is mostly a shooter.
