Lots of newcomers for the Quakers tonight as they easily put away the Maine-Farmington Beavers, 69-41, in Greensboro.  It was 33-13 at the half.  Guilford faces the William Peace Pacers tomorrow while the Beavers meet the Virginia-Lynchburg Dragons, a 99-81 loser to WPU.
Good to know VUL's athletic department is still actually in operation since their athletic .com website hadn't been updated in a few years and then was just removed.

VUL has put its athletic info on the school main website now -

The Jackets had all they could handle at both ends in Fredericksburg yesterday.  Fortunately, they pulled together late & came home with the win 63-58.

GO JACKETS!!!

Guilford over William Peace 90-72 yesterday while VA Univ-Lynchburg came from behind to top Maine-Farmington, 71-63.  Quakers shot 75% in 2nd half and Dragons overcame a 38-19 halftime deficit in consolation game.

RMC with a BIG 2nd half to overcome MWC at the end.I was surprised my old friend and RMC Alum Rod Wood was no longer coaching at MWC but was in "An Administrative Position"...-a decision that I think MWC will see as a mistake later-EGOS get in the way of reason sometimes!! Rod has always been a FIREBALL similar to my friend and former Jacket Coach Mike Rhoades-He was an asset to that program!!
I think myself and my Gf will venture over to the Freeman Center at CNU to see how our Jackets perform against the Captains of CNU tomorrow night.Odd start time-6pm.It's alot easier for me to go there on a weeknight rather than venture to Crenshaw since I'm a Hampton Roads local-my gF lives about 10 minutes from CNU so it's an easy trip for me!! 2RMC Fans-do you know if the Yellow Jacket Club is having a pregame social in the Freeman Center similar to the ones we have at VWC before the games there?? Just curious...Be nice to see a few people and have a beverage before the game!!....GO JACKETS!!

Sorry 1982 we have no clue about a social before or at half-time at CNU.  Usually YJC only does that on the road during the ODACS.  It's great you can be there for the game tonight.  Wish we could but we'll follow online.  The players' families are a very involved, loyal group & hopefully they'll be there to provide a cheering section.

GO JACKETS!!!

Managed to secure two tickets for Wednesday's SRO game at Greensboro.  It wasn't easy!  I know Greensboro College wants and deserves a home game on campus, but Hanes Gym is such an inadequate facility for this rivalry game.  Greensboro Coliseum is too big and Hanes Gym is too small.  What to do?  I know, play every game in Ragan-Brown! lol

2-0 The Gennies are off to a nice start. It looks like they've got a balanced attack. Do I dare get my hopes up ;)
If you make every game a life and death proposition, you're going to have problems. For one thing, you'll be dead a lot. Dean Smith

badcall!

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere here so I wanted to give Coach Moir at Roanoke some kudos for his 400th career win.  Obviously the 'noke hasn't been a factor in the ODAC race for a number of years but 400 wins is still an impressive total.

Also, had the opportunity to see EMU and BC play over the weekend.  EMU has some potential to have a solid year.  If they can find anyone that can consistently make the 3 they will be ok.  Going to be a difficult season for BC based on the two games I saw and with their only 2 really quality players being seniors-could be even worse times ahead.

Looking forward to another exciting year of ODAC competition.

CMR

Have watched both RMC games and this team is struggling.  No leadership and no shooters.  It's going to be a long season for the Jackets.

I watched part of tonight's game. CNU, ranked #24 pre-season, played hard nosed defense -- clearly tougher than the Jackets' defense. MWC also got top 25 votes. So, maybe a bit early to say how the season might go. Coach Davis has a way of bringing a team along. I looked at the schedule before the start of the season and thought it was entirely possible the Jackets could start 0-4, in spite of what the pollsters thought about them voting them #11. From what I could see freshman guard Rip Engle has promise. Lots of experienced seniors who are going to have to assume that leadership you referred to, which I agree appeared to be somewhat lacking tonight. There are a lot of traditionally strong programs across the country that have gotten off to rough starts so far. And the Jackets could have won tonight's game at the free throw line -- 56% won't win you any close games.

^^ we have the same observations CMR but it's really early to count the Jackets out.  This is big team w/a lot of new players & 2 of their 4-year leaders (on & off the court) graduated (A. Simon & J. Robinson).

We know they will come together as a team; the question is "when".  First thing they must do is get around the zone defense.  We hope this weekend on the road will help them get it together.

If we hear of anything social at VWC on 12/3, we'll post it 1982.

Congrats to last night's ODAC winners.

GO JACKETS!!!!

same here guys!! But as bad as we played we still had a shot to win at the end...... NEVER EVER count
Nathan Davis out!!! We were sitting right next to Coach Macedo and his VWC STAFF and they said the same thing I did- 55% at the line won't win many games but it almost did last night!! We didn't get a lot of calls but that certainly didn't beat us and you expect some of that on the road..... NO EXCUSES!! We got beat when we shouldn't have and Nathan will be back!! We play them later in the year and win by 15!! We have some tentativeness on the offensive end and guys missing free throws..... That is reversible!! And that Rip Engle's gonna be A PLAYER!! GO JACKETS!!

I agree ... 19 of 34 from the FT line tells a big story for RMC.
