In retrospect, I was listening to the HSC announcers gleefully hopeful with Conner out and then to have his freshman replacement start with four 3s early to set the tone for the whole game?  That had to be a shot to the heart for HSC fans.  So, with Conner out and Akeem having a subpar scoring night, what could have been with those guys running on all cylinders?  And, another potential starter out for the year (Jamie Wilson), the depth is outstanding.  Too many offensive weapons on this RMC team.  Also, great to see the freshmen, Charlie Hills, on the court last night following some foot injuries this year.  He'll be surely needed next year, so some experience is great for him.

I'm gloating now, because we all know that the shoe can easily be on the other foot in the next meeting.

Hey, Pat, it really 'stings' to have RMC called the Tigers in the cover story!

Thanks for the heads-up -- but better to email if you want to get my attention. I don't go through every board on a regular basis.

Didn't want it fixed too quickly, would have killed the whole conversation.   ;D

Congrats to our rivals up in Ashland on the big win; really an ole fashion a$$ kicking. Hopefully HSC can be more competitive next time.

^^ Wish we could have been there & glad you were able to get there to support them Don.  As you say, any team with Mike & JD coaching is going to do fine in time.

The Jackets head to Roanoke tomorrow.  Hope they have a good game there.  We've heard that the VWC game in Crenshaw is going to be televised by Cox Sports channel on Wed. at 7:00 pm.  Not sure if we can get it thru Comcast cable, but hoping to be there anyway.  Would be a good way for you Tidewater Jackets to watch the game!

Good luck to all for this weekend.

GO JACKETS!!!

In a rare coincidence, the Quakers get the visiting Hornets back-to-back ... Lynchburg night before last and Shenandoah tomorrow afternoon.  lol  Hope Guilford can play well and pick up another ODAC victory.

They've already played the Yellow Jackets and, if the haven't already, will play the Wasps. Are there any other flying, stinging creatures in the ODAC the other tams have to swat at?

So far, we've played all four in the ODAC (Old Dominion Apiary Conference).

In an odd scheduling sequence and behind 27 points from Matt McCarthy, the Quakers again swat a team named the Hornets in back-to-back ODAC games, this time 85-75 versus Shenandoah (1-14, 0-6).  The SU Hornets rebounded from a 25-point first half deficit to close the gap to 5 in the second half, but Guilford (11-4, 4-2) finished strong to take the win.  Rice 17 and Freeman 15 came up big for the Quakes while Shenandoah had four players in double figures.
