Let's make sure the team does not use this unfortuante situation as an excuse; look at it as a new start. things were not going very well the 2 weeks prior to the virus hitting campus. Lots of losses leading up to the shutdown, so new start forget and forget the past several weeks.

67-61  in OT  H-SC over Guilford - great game given where H-SC was coming from.  Guilford had strong finish in game as down 10 and had 13-2 run to go into OT

Great win for the Tigers, given the recent circumstances and the lack of practice time we've had, makes it all the more impressive. Best defensive effort I've seen from the team in weeks,

Thought EMU might pull the upset, but they fall 3 short, again.  Story of the season, it seems.  http://www.emuroyals.com/sports/mbkb/2014-15/releases/20150204iuirwf

Congrats to HSC for hanging tough and posting the win. On to Saturday afternoon and the BC Eagles.
Lets see what happens.

But EMU did beat Michigan for the first time since Earl Boykins graduated before the turn of the millennium!

(Oops, wrong EMU! ;D)

Just watched a replay of the RMC/EMU game.  Always fun to watch when you know the outcome.  Worst ref team that I've seen in a while.

^ Totally agree, in person they seemed worse than usual.  In the 2nd half it was hard to watch all the missed fouls while thinking someone was about to get hurt by the level of physicality out there.  So glad when the game ended w/no apparent injuries on either side.

Hope everyone has good luck for the weekend.

GO JACKETS!!!

I've noticed out here in the Midwest that the officiating also seems a lot more forgiving this year than in past years. It seems to me that fewer fouls are being called and games are ending 10-15 minutes earlier than they have in the past. Maybe the officials are unhappy with their pay so they are increasing their hourly wage by not calling fouls and shortening the games.  :)

Officials are the man reason I had to get away from basketball; bad calls drive me crazy; the shot clock and three point shot had something to do with it as well. Still a great game, just not the same game I enjoyed watching years ago.

I concluded a few years back that if I wanted to live longer I was going to have to stop getting upset with the officiating. I think I have succeeded fairly well and now just enjoy the games without letting the officials spoil them for me. I am still alive, so it must be working.  :)

Congratulations to the Tigers.  Disappointing loss for the Quakers ... saw the score while I was in Mexico.  C'est la vie.  Saw GC took a lead at 53-52, but HSC got a FT to tie.  This is what happens when you go 10 of 37 from three-point range.  Hope we have a better showing at SU today.

Jackets survives another tough road game despite another poor outing for the ODAC refs.  Sad to see two teams play well and fight tough and not be supported by good refereeing (is that a word?).  Not fair to our student athletes.

Perhaps the refs did have a bad game, but I wasn't focusing on them. It was simply a tale of two halves and the Jackets were fortunate that W&L's final shot in regulation -- a nice open look -- was missed otherwise they would be 18-3 instead of 19-2. It seemed to me that the Jackets let down their guard defensively and were cold shooting in the second half. Did the defensive shortcomings affect the offense? I suspect so because when a team comes back like W&L you can lose some confidence and start missing shots.
