Jackets survives another tough road game despite another poor outing for the ODAC refs.  Sad to see two teams play well and fight tough and not be supported by good refereeing (is that a word?).  Not fair to our student athletes.
Perhaps the refs did have a bad game, but I wasn't focusing on them. It was simply a tale of two halves and the Jackets were fortunate that W&L's final shot in regulation -- a nice open look -- was missed otherwise they would be 18-3 instead of 19-2. It seemed to me that the Jackets let down their guard defensively and were cold shooting in the second half. Did the defensive shortcomings affect the offense? I suspect so because when a team comes back like W&L you can lose some confidence and start missing shots.

Only saw the second half, but give W&L credit for their 2nd half shooting, but the inconsistency of the refs didn't help either team, just made it tough for either team to get a rhythm.

Looking more closely at the second half stats, the Jackets go 0-10 from 3.  They were getting good looks, it wasn't WLU defense, so that's a key to that half.  Make a couple of those and this game goes quite differently.  Bottom line, Jackets SURVIVE again.  Maybe looking ahead to Wednesday night, big rivalry game on TV, got to get excited about that!

I haven't looked to verify this, but it seems like the Jackets often have a tough time at W&L. Watching the first half I felt like they were playing well and in good shape to hold onto the lead throughout the second half. My video feed, which was really smooth in the first half, kept freezing in the second half. Seemed like it froze when someone was shooting and I didn't see what happened on a lot of the foul calls. I will defer to you on the quality of the officiating.

A good win for Sydney today vs BC.  Alex Smith came off the bench to score 13 points on 6-7 shooting.  There has been a lot of talk about officiating recently,  and the refs really let them play in this one.  Both teams often had shooters who felt they should've been shooting FTs, but it was consistent, IMO.   Both of these teams have young post players with a lot of potential.

Letting them play is definitely the way to put it. Hasn't been all that many fouls called in our last two games. Even though it's been fair both ways (rather it be the fouls called or not called), it has really been to our benefit because our freshmen post players have had a tendency to get in foul trouble at times this season.

Eastern Mennonite gets an important win on the road against LC.  http://www.emuroyals.com/sports/mbkb/2014-15/releases/20150207neesj2 Held the Hornets to less than 30% shooting for the game.

H-SC over E&H  77-66   Very even scoring as 4 guys in double figures   E&H was up by 2 at half - fairly close until about 8 minute mark or so and H-SC pulled away.  Made a lot of foul shots at end to go 7-5 in ODAC.  Never seem such high arching 3 pointers as E&H did tonight and they did a lot.

RMC vs HSC, archrivals going head-to-head.  #4 team playing their century old rival, sounds like a trap game?  16 game winning streak vs a resurgent HSC team having won 3 in a row!  Sold out crowd, on TV!  Doesn't get any better than this in DIII.

We appreciate the 80 tickets HSC received. Some of the players parents can't get into the game. Talking about a home court advantage. Can't say I blame RMC nor am I really sure how many HSC faithfuls would show up anyway. What channel is the game on in Richmond ? Good luck tomorrow night. Hopefully the Tigers can make a game out of it this time.

You're welcome, not sure I would have given that many tickets.  ;)  With 17 players and no more than 34 parents, maybe some of the HSC staff should offer their tickets to the parents.  This game scares me, Jackets have not played well of late and this game has the potential to go badly for the Jackets.  Will be a tough, close game in my opinion.  The Tigers have nothing to lose and everything to gain, making them dangerous.  Certainly enough talent on the Tiger team to pull the upset.

Tickets are going to financial backers of the program/school. Maybe HSC can return the favor next year !!!
I haven't seen a sold out crowd in Crenshaw in awhile, so no n eed to limit attendance. HSC does not charge for athletic events so entry into the game is first come first served.

Hasa, whats going on with your Quakers ? Had a commanding lead for the #3 seed and now they are fighting it out to avoid having to play a first round game. Pick it up !!! HSC has a tough close to the season going to RMC to VWC to Roanoke and SU at home. About the best they can hope for is two more victories which should make them about a 5th seed which would not be so bad given their season to date.

CMR

Okay, well financial backers, then.  If HSC gave the allotment to financial backers and not parents, don't blame RMC, that's HSC's decision.  As to selling out Crenshaw, I believe this is maybe the third time this season.  Attendance is up in Crenshaw, with the team doing well and the student support is up, plus about 1400 students at RMC nowadays.  Looks like the attendance in Fleet is down this year, with only 1100 for the RMC game, and about 400 for most other games (only 300 lately against GC and EHC).   Fleet for years has been one of the best attended venues, but not this year.

I agree CMR..... This game could be TROUBLE for us!l......and as for the tickets.......THE HSC crowd has done the same to us!, I remember when Tony Shaver was coaching and we went there in the playoffs we only got Whatever the NCAA MINIMUM was! OUR TURN!, At least you can see it on TV- Down here its only on ppv!,

Just think 80 tickets is a very small number, but again, I really don't have a dog in the fight.
Good luck and may the worse team win !!!

You're correct on the playoff game, however, I was able to get 30 tickets for Coach Nunnally, even gave him a ride to the game but refused to sit next to him, or he refused to allow me to sit next to him, can't remember all of those details!!!

I'd be surprised if the Tigers pull the upset, however, I'm hoping they are at least competitive this time.
