Glad HSC got the victory, however the fact they were behind to E&H by 17 points is concerning. Everything I hear, including comments from several E&H backers, E&H is not very good. Every team has their day and perhaps last nite was almost that day for E&H. I guess at this point it is all about advancing to the next game and HSC certainly accomplished that goal but rest assured if HSC does not show up in the first half against the Quakers, the game result will not be a good one for the Tigers. Hopefully lesson learned and on to the next game. I'm impressed with HSC will to win. I hope there was a big crowd there to support them.

Several thoughts. E&H was red hot on 3 pointers - one player who was a 13% 3 point shooter had 5 or 6 in first half.  His arches almost hit the flags!! They did shut him down in 2nd half but some others did same in 2nd half until the full court press took over..  As the season progressed, E&H made some great improvements - they beat four teams that beat HSC - Roanoke by 7, Shenandoah by 5, EMC by 3 and Bridgewater by 4. Their coach has HSC stripes so he will be on up swing.  Beware next year.

Most players in the odac can hit wide open three pointers. We need to defend better. I finally saw the film of the RMC game and it was clear our defense gives up way too many wide open looks. Sounds like that did not happen in second half last nite
but it happened way to often in Ashland.

Now that all the pairings are set, good luck to all the programs & safe travels to/from Salem.

We'd like to be there on Thurs, but work won't allow it.

GO JACKETS!!!

Will the snow storm delay the odac tourney ?

Apparently no from what I have seen with other sources. All the teams are in town (banquet was last night)... furthermore a delay would KILL the timing of this event. Not much wiggle room.

Go Quakes!  I know you have the HSC Tigers tonight at 8 ... I can't make it tonight, but hope to make the trip on Saturday with GC in the semifinals!

Yep there is essentially zero wiggle room without some teams likely being forced to play twice in one day, like the SEC did several years ago when a tornado came through and hit the arena they were holding the tournament at.

Now it might be a problem on the women's side with them traveling to Salem this afternoon to get there for the banquet. I've heard the roads here in Farmville are looking good for the most part, even the residential roads way off the main through fares, so I know major roads like 460 and the interstates have to be looking pretty good when combined with the warming temperatures helping melt some snow/ice.

The twisty roads going through the mountains between Lexington and Salem might be "adventurous" though.

I trust you know I'm joking. I've totally checked out this b'ball season, not seen one game, so I have no idea what I'm talking about. I went into shock the way football ended and have yet to recover.

Jackets survive on a poor shooting day.  As is typical, the Jackets never shoot well in the Salem Center.  Moving on!

Well, 4 of 18 3 pointers is poor, but 18 of 28 2 pointers is very satisfactory, and  48% overall is okay as is 24 of 31 (77.4%) free throws. Seventeen more made free throws were the big difference.

VWC really thumped W&L. I think they will be tough to beat in the tournament. Pretty sure they feel like they have something to prove and are extremely highly motivated. Not that the other teams aren't, but I expect VWC wants it more than anyone.
