Marlins with a solid 15 point win. Khory Moore looks to be back. 18pts and 10 rebounds. Breven Lyons Was huge like normal. Hit big shots to answer every John Carroll run. Greg Montgomery is back playing. You can see he's not 100% but still had 14 pts. Hopefully my Marlins play better defense tonight and get the Win. Good luck to the Jackets as well

Not ugly, either. Catholic only had 5 turnovers, the Jackets only 10. Catholic is a good team. Good preparation for the next game. Connor Sullivan doesn't play. Anyone know why?

Never said anything about ugly.

No, you didn't. Sorry about the implication. I thought it was a pretty good game. Not sure what you meant by not pretty.

Felt that the jackets had chances to put catholic away and did not. They could have been playing with a 15 point lead instead of 5-8. Because of  their own mistakes not because of what catholic did.

I guess that's an accurate statement. It's always possible to play better.

I was in Ashland and I can honestly say Catholic took every shot we had and came back swinging! Yes....we had chances to put them away but give them credit.... they didn't let us!!..., Game got a little CHIPPY at the end between the coaches.... after an obviously dirty play and push by a Catholic player on one of our kids...probably out of frustration as much as anything else....led to Nathan taking offense to the way one of his players was treated....and the refs had bee n reluctant to take action...that then .led to words between he and the refs...,and then the Catholic coach....who seemed to support their behavior.....it got CHIPPY at one point.....NEVER seen Nathan like that so I know it was founded......anyways....after a T on the Catholic bench and several hit free throws by us.....cooler heads prevailed thank goodness....now that VWC has won it sets up perhaps yet a FOURTH meeting between us which scares the HELL out of us!!.... Too much basketball yet to be played to worry about that tho!!.....GO JACKETS!!

Congrats to R-MC--great squad, great atmosphere.  Well-deserved victory.  R-MC is very deep, lots of D1 bodies and a lot of talent.  Catholic has been overachieving this year and I thought played a good game--particularly in outrebounding R-MC despite a massive height disadvantage.  Best of luck going forward.

I do want to say something about the incident with 1:00 left in the game, however.  It was a hard foul, and I have no problem with the intentional being called.  The R-MC player made an aggressive move to the basket (I'm not sure why when the smart play would have been to hold and run the clock down, but put that aside), and Phanord got there late and fouled.  There was another Catholic player there and they also got a little tripped up.  Okay, it happens.  Like I said, call the intentional foul.  But I do have a problem with the massive overreaction by Coach Davis.  I understand that he wants to protect his players and he doesn't want anybody getting hurt.  I completely respect that.  But it is never acceptable for a coach to be yelling obscenities at an opposing player, or to march down the court pointing fingers at the other coach and yelling F-bombs the whole way.  You can clearly see at least his actions on the video, including when he starts down the sideline pointing fingers and making it personal for some reason.  He completely escalated the situation, and yes, he got away with it because the Tech ended up being called on the Catholic bench for reacting.  But are they really supposed to sit there and take it when an opposing Coach is using the f-word on one of their teammates which was clearly audible?  Really?

Your team is up and moving on--get some composure and act like it.

In any event, these two teams played hard and the end shouldn't overshadow the effort on both sides.

VWC gutted out a tough 77-74 win at William Paterson. Always hard to make it out of the 1st weekend, as well as doing it against the host team. Khory Moore had 41 points for VWC. Put the team on his BACK!

Got Dickinson next week! Common sense says that the game will be at RMC but you never know with the NCAA lol

algernon

The games will definitely be either at RMC or Dickinson.
