Not sure why I said anything about no video link for R-MC at SU since I wasn't going to be able to watch, but glad to know there was one. I followed live stats from the games I was at until the stats died with R-MC up 43-19 at the 15:36 mark of the 2nd half. Can only infer things from the box score, but I won't

The E&H announcers keep saying it's a media timeout.  If you only have one broadcast outlet, wouldn't it be a medium timeout?  :)

Yeah, but how many listeners know Latin? ;D

You'd confuse the hell outa NFL fans if you said stadia instead of stadiums!  (And, no doubt, confuse the hell out of most NFL broadcasters too! :D)
Well, it was played in a gymnasium.  :)  I confuse the infernum out of most people, so nothing new there.  lol  I come, I jaw, I confuse.

And from written records we know the plural of that is gymnasia. ;D

I had a sorta debate with Gregory Sager a few years ago about the proper plural of Prius.  My wife bought her second Prius two years ago - I contend she has had Prii.  Greg called BS on me.  I pointed out that the plural of radius is radii.  My Latin is not good enough to resolve the debate, and Toyota didn't exist when anyone actually spoke Latin. :o

SOMETIMES debates with no possible resolution can nonetheless be fun!  The term 'Prii' amuses the heck out of me - that seems to me to be sufficient justification.

congrats on the win @ E&H. I know you are shaking in your boots over the HSC game on Saturday.
sounds like the Tigers are heading right to the very bottom of the odac. Shame to see a once proud program with lots of tradition, sink so low. Life goes on.

Still having fun following the odac. GC/RMC/VWC/LC are going to fight it out for both regular season title and tourney. E&H might make some noise down the stretch. Good luck for the remainder of the season.

thanks, tfa2.  I worry about every ODAC game and especially HSC ... they are our nemesis.  Hope the season picks up for the Tigers ... just wait until next week to get started.  :)

Mr. Ypsi, let me know what you say if you and your wife both get a Lexus.  :)

thanks Hasa. I always pull for things to get better but try to be realistic. I think HSC is 6-10 and heading to play #1 team on the road. Never say never, but I think we are looking at 6-11 and sinking fast. Based on past performances, Tigers may be looking at a very long and ugly season. where there is hope there's opportunity !!!!

I know I've said this before, but HSC baffles me.  On paper, they are a good team ,I 'd take them any day.  I've watched them several times, and I'm no expert, but I can't figure what's wrong.

I've not seen them play; I hear from others that too many players are getting too much time, bad rotations, does not played top 7 to 8 guys enough minutes, together. I'm not a b'ball guy but this is what I hear from those that go to games and observe.

You probably were a high scorer in the Auxilium Latinum national test.  ;D

To add to the list - don't forget what Paul Webb contributed as well.

Indeed. Since we don't hear anything about R-MC basketball coaches before Webb, it seems safe to say that he is the one who got this started. The second article linked above also mentions several former E&H players or coaches and one from W&L having success elsewhere now.  And Tony Shaver from H-SC should be acknowledged as well. No doubt there are others.

Lynchburg at R-MC was an all-around well-played game. Jackets hang on for a 72-70 win. Korey Turner and DarryI Williams combine to go 8-8 on 3 pointers and 9-9 overall. I couldn't hear the audio. Had the volume on my computer and on the broadcast all the way up, so I don't know what's wrong. It's not my speakers. I really enjoy hearing the announcers and being able to learn about the visiting team, know the foul situation, who's scored how many points, etc. So it was interesting to check my perception against the box score. I had the sense the LC's #3 was having a good shooting/scoring game and that was true, though he missed more shots (8 of 16 -- still pretty good) than I thought he had. LC also tough defensively and turned the Jackets over 13 times. A game that could have gone either way, but Turner hits a 3 with a minute left to make it 70-67 and then 2 FTs with 11 seconds left to make it 72-67. After LC hit a 3 with 4.7 seconds left the R-MC inbounds play was well designed and executed so LC wasn't able to get a steal or foul.

I see that H-SC won at Guilford. Gonna be an exciting 2nd half to the ODAC season.
