R-MC JACKETS pull away in the 2nd half with a great defensive effort but not by that much!! That kid#23 for W&L sure can FILL IT UP!! Don't know how many points he had but  bet he hit AT LEAST 7 3's!! Not easy ones either !! Jackets are playing much better team defense than I have seen them play! Keep it up fellas!

^^^ I was only able to watch parts of the game on my phone, so not the best viewing experience. What I saw was a W&L offense that looked really challenging to defend against -- tons of rapid motion and screening and quick ball movement leading to easy shots near the basket or open jumpers. Jacket defense must have really stepped up in the second half after giving up 45 points in the first. Great win! Congratulations!

W&L IS that good and their ball movement ,especially in the first half, was good and that #23 was raining treys!! However- in the 2nd half he hardly got off any shots at all and we limited them to one shot most of the 2nd half. He still ended up with 22 but our team defense and rebounding in the 2nd half made the difference. Now on to E and H on Saturday in Crenshaw!

In other news around the ODAC yesterday:

Lynchburg beat Emory and Henry 87-66 (Was close at half but Lynchburg dominated in the second half)

EMU beat Ferrum 75-68

Virginia Wesleyan beat Averett

CNU beat Shenandoah 91-78

Apprentice School beat Randolph 76-74

Guildford lost to NC Wesleyan 65-70

I haven't gotten to see Lynchburg play but they're looking dangerous as they're currently undefeated and manhandled Emory and Henry last night.

^^^ Thanks for that recap. Some fascinating results last night. Conference play everywhere is so unpredictable. Gonna be a fun season.

E&H at R-MC was a pretty good game. Jackets took the lead for good with just under two minutes left in the first half and built it to 14 at one point in the second half. Wasps then got as close as three, but that was it. R-MC has a number of guys who can hit threes and if one of them is having a good day it makes it tough for the other team. Corey Bays was that guy today (6 of 10). Depth was also a factor. E&H only got 37 minutes and two points from three players off the  bench, while the Jackets got 68 minutes and 19 points from five guys.

I'll be interested in the CNU at Lynchburg result tomorrow. Jackets play at CNU next Saturday.

Lynchburg all over CNU AT HALF 43-30

Lynchburg beats #22 CNU at home today by 13.  The ODAC may be WIDE OPEN this year as there are about 4 legit contenders.  I still have RMC as my favorite though.

My error.number399..................oops..........400 is coming.

Dave 'd-mac' McHugh

The carnage continues!

Ok, maybe some hyperbole there, but it doesn't take away from the fact nine men's Top 25 teams lost (account for 12 losses). Even the women are taking more losses this time of year than maybe we are used to from that Top 25 group. Five more took losses this past week, granted some were to other Top 25 opponents.

What could the second Top 25 poll of the season look like when it's released Monday evening? What other teams are surprising or maybe flying under the radar?

Join Dave McHugh as he's returned from his soccer soiree to recap another incredible week of Division III basketball. Hoopsville will air at a special time on Monday - starting at 11:00 am Eastern.

McHugh will be joined by a few teams stealing the spotlight early in the season. Plus, Ryan Scott helps Dave get back up to speed and tries to read the tea leaves ahead of the latest Top 25.

Dave will also talk to the latest coach to join the 600-win club. DePauw women's coach Kris Huffman talks about the accomplishment and this season's seemingly low-octane squad.

Oh ... and we get the sights and sounds of a game between UW-River Falls and St. Thomas from US Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Vikings, in Minneapolis.

Hoopsville is presented by D3hoops.com and airs from the WBCA/NABC Studio. You can watch Monday's special episode live right here: http://bit.ly/2DXh0ma

R-MC moves up one spot in the top 25 to #16. After receiving no votes last week, Lynchburg jumps in at #22. E&H falls completely out of the voting. Roanoke holds steady with 3 points, same as last week.

Lynchburg's been playing well...congrats to them...worth noting they've played all seven games at home...let's see how they do on the road.
