Disappointed in your team's season?  Check out some of the women's boxscores for Wesleyan (GA) in the USA South, including today's 112-9 loss at Maryville (TN).  The score was 64-2 at the half and, apparently, Wesleyan only has 5 players as all their starters played 40 minutes.  Hope things get better for them!

You should have seen the Trinity (DC) at Wilson game last weekend ... 127-7 when the game was called with 3:35 remaining. Trinity only had five players and didn't score any points in the first or fourth quarters.

Wow!  I truly hope the Wolves (and Trinity, DC) can be competitive next season.

according to the job posting, it was only a p/t position (head coach)

Two big games tonight -- VWU at R-MC and GC at Lynchburg. If R-MC and Lynchburg (the home teams) win it separates them a bit at the top of the conference standings. Any other outcomes makes things a bit tighter. Roanoke should win at home vs Randolph, as should W&L vs SU, to help keep it even more interesting at the top.

Being the ever optimistic Quaker fan I am, if RMC and UL both lose, then GC is tied with them in the loss column, but would have three head-to-head wins over the Yellow Jackets and the Hornets.  :)

Hope my Marlins can pull off the miracle in Crenshaw tonight. I always looked forward to traveling to RMC to play, was the best home court atmosphere in the ODAC IMO. There were some BATTLES in that gym between Virginia Wesleyan and Randolph Macon in Crenshaw, most notably in 08 when TonTon Balenga hit a deep three with Jordan Brown draped all over him to seal the game and the Elite 8 game when RMC missed a shot at the buzzer to send VWU to the final four in 2015 I believe? Coach Merkel and Matturo are both really great guys. But I gotta root for my Marlins on this one!

R-MC 62, VWU 50. Hard to see a lot on a phone screen, but looked like lots of tough defense by both teams.

I see that GC wins in OT at Lynchburg. Congrats.

Guilford 88, Lynchburg 82 in OT at Lynchburg

Great game.  GC let leads get away from them in regulation, but held on in OT.  UL's second overall loss and second in the ODAC, both to the Quakers.  Guilford is 14-5, 8-2 and Lynchburg is 17-2, 8-2.  Gregory with 25 and Curry with 23 for the Quakers.  The Hornets hit 16 threes, but the Quakers hit 50% on all shots.

I saw the end of the game, it was great.  I really thought that Lynchburg would pull it out in OT after they made the big comeback in the final minute.  Seems like the top 2 are Guilford and Macon, it's interesting to see who will be on top next month.

In other ODAC news, Roanoke beat Randolph 73-51.  Roanoke got up big with 8 minutes left in the first half.  In the second half the lead got as big as 30 at one point.

Congratulations on Roanoke's win.  The Maroons are right there at 7-3.  The last six games should be great.

Thanks we got one of the toughest schedules with games at VA Wesleyan, home against Lynchburg, at Randolph Macon and home against Guilford coming up.  If we could go 2-2 in that stretch I'd take it.

That is a tough ending.  I may try to go to the GC at Roanoke game.  Quakers visit EMU this Saturday ... our only match-up this season.  Hope it's not a "trap" game.

y_jack_lok

^^^ Yes, watch out for EMU. For R-MC it is the final game (and only meeting) of the season and is at EMU. Last season the Jackets struggled against EMU losing at home and in the ODAC tournament. The zone defense they were playing really messed with R-MC.

Didn't go to Crenshaw last night but watched the whole game on a bigger screen than a phone. VWC just doesen't look like the same gritty tough team they have in the past. DeWayne knows better than the rest of us I'm sure because he sees them more than any of us...it may be youth and inexperience but in the first half they were pounding the ball inside on us and driving to the hole well with their bigs and then they just looked like they were content  to sit outside and shoot 3's. Now our defense probably had something to do with that but they just didn't play with the same  toughness and swagger that they usually have. I have always had a lot of respect for them- especially when they came to Crenshaw because the crowd never seemed to bother them and actually seemed to  motivate them even more....this team just hasn't gotten there .....YET... There's still time and with Macedo leading them that 's kinda scary!
