Welcome home. My daughter is in London for the entire semester and loves it.

Let me know if HSC is as bad as their record indicates.
tfa2, I have a few more days here.   Thanks.  I can see how your daughter loves it ... what a great city.  I will keep you posted on Saturday's game with the Tigers.  I never count them out.

Roanoke with a big win tonight against Lynchburg 78-56.  Roanoke started out the game hot and took a early 20-8 point lead.  After that the lead never got below 11.  Lynchburg looked out of sync and in the first half didn't shoot that good from 3.  Again Roanoke isn't at all consistent this year, but this was the best overall game they have played this year.  They needed some momentum coming into the game @ Macon on Saturday  :o.

In other ODAC news:

Bridgewater gets a upset over Washington and Lee 94-84
EMU loses @ Randolph 62-56
Virginia Wesleyan wins big at Hampden Sydney 80-53
Macon wins at Shenandoah 96-76
Ferrum loses at Emory and Henry 69-85.

Nice game by the Maroons. I watched a bit in the 1st half.  I predict UL will lose their Top 25 ranking next week.

Seatfiller's prediction of three consecutive losses for Roanoke got foiled, which I'm sure he is happy about. A tough loss for Lynchburg. I agree that it will likely drop them out of the top 25 -- depending on how other teams ranked 20-25 and the top ORV teams did.

You're correct about that, but now we face the mother of all beasts in RMC at their place.  I don't understand Roanoke, in my opinion they've beaten 2 out of the 3 top teams in the ODAC, (Guilford and Lynchburg) but when it comes to the rest of the league they're Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Like y jack and Hasanova has stated I think this will be what knocks Lynchburg out of the top 25.

I'm hoping Roanoke is just getting better as the season goes off, but to be honest I'd be happy to lose within 5 of a very very good RMC team.

not seen an ODAC game this year and probably will not but I'm curious to know if the really good teams; RMC, GC, LU, etc. are good enough to make a deep run in NCAA. Thoughts from those following the ODAC this year. Good luck to your respective teams for a strong finish. Lets get one of your teams to the final four !!!!

That's about as well as I've seen the Jackets play this season, with the possible exception of the game at Emory early in the season. Congrats on a great win.

Barring a collapse in the next three games R-MC should get a bid even if they don't win the ODAC tournament. I'm not sure they are a final four team, but in D3 a lot depends on bracketing in the NCAA tournament. Two of the top five team are west of the Mississippi (Whitman and Nebraska Wesleyan) two are only a few miles from the Mississippi (Augustana and St. Thomas) and the other is in Wisconsin. If some of those teams wind up in brackets where they might have to play each other before the final four, that helps a lot of other teams.

Guilford 74, Hampden-Sydney 41

In their defense, HSC is young, but they are probably as bad (this season) as their record indicates.

If a sleeper wins the ODAC tournament, things can change, but here are the three teams I think have a chance at an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament:

RMC-  if the nationally ranked Yellow Jackets win out and lose in the ODAC, they'll be between 23-3 and 25-3 ... they're in.
GC-  if the receiving votes (and hot) Quakers win out and lose in the ODAC, they'll be between 20-6 and 22-6 ... they're on the bubble.  Three head-to-head wins vs RMC and UL help greatly, but a 7th loss would really hurt.
UL-  if the formerly ranked (and faltering) Hornets win out and lose in the ODAC, they'll be between 20-6 and 22-6 ... they're on the bubble.  Three head-to-head losses vs RMC and GC hurt, and a 7th loss would really hurt.  I think UL has slipped behind GC as a potential bubble team.

I honestly don't think any are Final Four teams, but I do believe with the right match-ups RMC and GC have the potential to advance a few rounds.

Roanoke got killed yesterday.  It looked like RMC was playing at a way faster speed than Roanoke.  RMC hit over 50% of their 3s in the first half. Roanoke also got out manned in every facet of the game yesterday.  If Roanoke sees Macon again at least I know we can't play that much worse than that.

As far as teams in the ODAC making the NCAA tourney, I think RMC is a lock if they win out in the last couple of games of their schedule. I think if Guilford can win out in the regular season and at least get past the first team in ODAC tourney they're in.  I think Lynchburg has a touger road due to them losing to Roanoke and yesterday at home against Bridgewater.  I think Lynchburg needs to win out and get at least to the finals of the ODAC tourney to get a bid.

Thanks.  Two road games this week ... at unpredictable Roanoke and at suddenly resurgent BC.  Fingers crossed.
