R-MC beginning to introduce freshman players on Twitter: https://mobile.twitter.com/RMCHoops/status/1169341395364143107

Another one: https://mobile.twitter.com/RMCHoops/status/1171897603895808000

The third of four: https://mobile.twitter.com/RMCHoops/status/1174397263713591296

The fourth and final R-MC recruit: https://mobile.twitter.com/RMCHoops/status/1176868723128487937
Looks like RMC has picked up two additional recruits, a 6-6 and 6-3 forwards.  I'm assuming they're sophomore eligible, so must be transfers.  We'll see once an official roster is published.  If correct, then RMC will have the services of 7 new players, the 4 freshmen mentioned above, plus these two, plus James Nworah, a 6-6 sophomore forward that saw no action last year, often not dressing out (I assume for injury reasons).

Here is the R-MC roster: https://www.rmcathletics.com/sports/mbkb/2019-20/roster. The two recruits Macon mentioned who weren't announced on Twitter appear to be sophomore Bradley Thomasson and freshman Rick Archambault, though he is a 2018 high school grad.

Correct, I knew they were both 2018 high school grads, but was not sure about their athletic eligibility.  Seems that Thomasson was a RMC student last year, but not part of the basketball program.  Not sure what Archambault did last year.

^^^ I watched some video clips of the first four when they were each introduced on Twitter, then of Thomasson and Archambault today. To the extent that you can really tell anything by doing that, they all look like solid players. The one who stood out was Josh Talbert. Looking forward to the start of the season.

Pre-season poll: https://www.odaconline.com/sports/mbkb/2019-20/releases/102419-mbkb-preseasonpoll

1) Guilford - 6 first place votes
2/3 - tie)  VWU - 4 first place votes; R-MC - 3 first place votes
4) Roanoke

Article says VWU has an E&H transfer -- Daniel Spencer.

Interesting Roanoke is 4th.  I knew we got one good transfer but I don't understand anything else that would have us that high.  I think Guilford is the clear #1 with Macon right behind them.  After that the order is up for grabs.

Kyler Gregory at Guilford is poised to make a run for POY.

I've been following the conversation in the "Top 25 Talk" thread. One person who votes on the top 25 has shared where his pre-season ballot stands at this moment, with ballot submission due Monday at 5 p.m. ET. Below is a lknk to his most recent post. He has Guilford at #23. No other ODAC teams on his ballot.

The complete pre-season top 25 is out: https://www.d3hoops.com/top25/men/2019-20/preseason

Guilford at #19, R-MC at #24, no votes for any other ODAC teams. I'd say Guilford may be in about the right spot, R-MC a bit above where I woild expect. Not surprising they got votes, just a few more than I imagined. Also no surprise that no other ODAC teams received votes. Now we get to play games and see how these voters did.

Like always I expect the ODAC to be competitive this year.  I'm hoping some of the bottom teams last year (SU, HSC) can give more fight this year.

This will be the second year in a row that all three RMC major men's teams (football, basketball, and baseball) will be nationally ranked.  Probably no other ODAC school has done this once, needless to say for two years.  Congrats to the RMC AD, coaches, and RMC athletes.

If we are going to start comparing ODAC schools and the success of their athletic departments I would suggest that we look at more than just 3 sports.

For example;
1) The 2018-19 Division III Learfield IMG College Director's Cup
https://nacda.com/documents/2019/6/11//DIIIJune12Overallupdate.pdf?id=3667

OR

2) The 2018-19 ODAC Commissioners Cup

There are lots of ways to define success. Yes the Generals have dominated the Commissioners Cups. But RMC has had more national success in the big name sports. You celebrate what you want. Personally I don't ascribe more value to football, baseball and basketball than other sports, though I do like to watch football the most, but these are certainly the most important to most Americans. It's a legit source of pride for the RMC faithful how well RMC has done in these sports, like it is for me how well W&L has done in soccer, lax, swimming, golf, tennis and more. And yes, that's men's and women's, as W&L's women's sports have been more dominating than the men with few exceptions over the years.

You guys are raining on my parade!   :D  But, yes, WLU does win the Cup all the time, and does especially well on the women's side.  RMC women typically are the only ODAC team challenging WLU, especially in swimming, softball and volleyball over the years.  WLU's ability to recruit nationally certainly helps the women programs.  But at the end of the day, I'll take the big three, and I'll give you the rest.

See bold. Easy to do since W&L doesn't field a softball team. 😁

Oops.  I know RMC softball has been dominating the ODAC, so assumed so over WLU.  Interesting though that WLU doesn't play softball, complete surprise to me.

Actually, VWU has been dominang ODAC softball recently, winning national championships in 2017 amd 2018. They slipped a bit last season, failing to make the World Series again, which R-MC managed to do, though the went 0-2 and were eliminated.
