Wow that's a lot closer than I expected.  Read the recap on the EMU website, they gave JMU a decent fight.

Richmond 70, R-MC 57. Jackets led in scoring by two freshmen: Miles Mallory - 12 pts, Josh Talbert - 10 pts.

You guys are raining on my parade!   :D  But, yes, WLU does win the Cup all the time, and does especially well on the women's side.  RMC women typically are the only ODAC team challenging WLU, especially in swimming, softball and volleyball over the years.  WLU's ability to recruit nationally certainly helps the women programs.  But at the end of the day, I'll take the big three, and I'll give you the rest.

See bold. Easy to do since W&L doesn't field a softball team. 😁
Oops.  I know RMC softball has been dominating the ODAC, so assumed so over WLU.  Interesting though that WLU doesn't play softball, complete surprise to me.

Softball is the only ODAC sport W&L does not participate in. It's been in the master plan for a while as a possible facility upgrade. I think the land has even been set aside or at least surveyed, but with the issues involving male/female splits in higher education, it might be an unnecessary addition.

At the moment, W&L has 12 men's sports and 11 women's however, so softball would be a logical addition. I know in the last 20 years W&L has added field hockey (1999 maybe?) and women's golf (2014 or so?). Both of those were played on established facilities though field hockey did get a top notch turf field 10 or 15 years ago. Softball would obviously need to be a purpose built facility. W&L has the money, but I suspect they won't do it unless they have a good reason.

Good to hear.  Looks like Transfer Josh Whelan will be a good help rebounding! https://www.emuroyals.com/sports/mbkb/2019-20/releases/20191102zl7ikq

On the RMC/UR game, a solid game for the Jackets.  Jackets outrebounded UR, including 10 offensive.  Good all around game by Buzz, nine points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals, a very solid performance against a DI team.  Good to see the freshmen performances too.

Yes, Jackets got off to a slow start, but settled in and played well. Defense must have been pretty solid. Could have been a bit closer had the Jackets shot the ball better. UR shot 44.2% overall and 47.1% (8 of 17) from three. The Jackets' shot 34.5% overall and 24.1% (7 of 29) from three.

Anybody got any information on Lynchburg Hornets this year?

I may have missed this earlier but I didn't see Dimetri Chambers listed on the Bridgewater roster. Where is he playing this year? Thanks.

Tough (for both teams!) Top 25 opener tomorrow with #6 Emory at #19 Guilford.  The Quakers sometimes start slow, but I hope tomorrow's game will be topnotch.  Go Quakers!

ODAC teams go 3-4  on the day. Wins by R-MC, E&H, and VWU. Losses for Lynchburg, Randolph, EMU, and Guilford. As hasanova noted, GC was playing #6 Emory.

R-MC was led in scoring (17 pts) by freshman guard Josh Talbert  and in rebounding (10) by freshman forward Miles Mallory.
