Congrats to R-MC on a good win over a good team yesterday. Wish I could have followed it. That coupled with the VWU loss assures the Jackets of the #1 ODAC tourney seed, which is both meaningful and meaningless. Seems there's nothing tougher than tournament hoops with the chance to keep playing on the line.
Well, it's pretty obvious the Jackets will get an at-large bid even if they falter in Salem.

You're right Hasa but if we stumble it will depend on WHO we stumble against( If we do) that will determine whether or not we get to play in the friendly confines of Crenshaw and for how long...?.
?? The NCAA has not always been kind to us in Regional play.... we have to KNOCK the door down, so to speak, in order to host after the first round or two....

Jackets move to #2... VWU Down to #18... W&L with no votes.... don't quite think that's fair...😡

W&L doesn't have a single win on their resume that stands out. And they have lost games against those who are ranked ... so nothing that is a signature result.

I'm not sure what you expect.

I was thinking the same thing as Dave ... and the Generals have 5 losses.

Yep. If W&L was going to crack the top 25 they needed to win over the weekend. To hold on to their votes, they probably needed the final score to be a lot closer. Maybe someday.

Yeah I know its a stretch....and I just want them to get a few votes I guess.....but if you look at VWU they have 4 losses and haven't beaten ANYONE in the top 25.....closest thing is CNU who got 12 votes this week..and they lost to RMC by 6 at home..I know they have historically been good but thats not what its supposed to be about..not trying to be a Smarta$$...Just trying to answer your question d-mac...

^^^ There are 25 individual voters who vote on the Top 25. My guess is that there is one of them that leans towards the ODAC more than the others and was putting W&L on his ballot and R-MC as #1. With the Generals' rather lopsided loss at R-MC on Saturday that voter likely could no longer justify a vote for W&L. Just a theory of mine. Nothing more.

Also, R-MC picked up another first place vote.

I'm voting for VWC because they at least have played RMC close ... unlike just about everyone else this season. It was three points at RMC.

Though, I moved VWU down (I think .. can't remember off the top of my head; I least thought about it), because I do wish they had more of a signature result than the win over CNU. But they are also second in the ODAC ... W&L being third isn't on my ballot.

I know this is splitting hairs, and that you likely did that from memory, so please don't take this as a criticism, but it was six points and at VWU: https://www.rmcathletics.com/sports/mbkb/2019-20/boxscores/20200122_f4gf.xml?view=boxscore

The only other teams to come that close to R-MC are Mary Washington who won by five, Ursinus who lost by four, and Lynchburg who lost by three. The only other team to lose by single digits was Rowan by seven.

Yep ... i was going off memory... probably flipped that result with some other team I was thinking about today.

Going up to Crenshaw tonite with a  SAE Frat bro to see the Jackets battle HSC. Game is sold out....toss out the record books and prognostications.....I think this game will be much closer than most people think! Coach Kimbrough will not be intimidated and knows from experience what playing in a sold out, BOISTEROUS  Crenshaw is like, having come in and won there while playing at GC. I would expect the Tigers to play much better than they did in December in Fleet....GO JACKETS!

^^^ For sure this will be a tough game tonjght. I'm not putting it in the win column in my mind, just in my hopes. I'll be at a live game, but will keep my eye on it as much as I can.
