A five-way tie for fourth at 9-7 is a possibility now.

RMC at Guilford (9-6)
W&L at Ferrum (9-6)
Lynchburg is done (9-7)
Randolph at Roanoke (9-6)
BC at H-SC (8-6)

RMC, W&L, Roanoke, and H-SC should win their games, but wouldn't surprise me if upsets happen, though it's hard to see Guilford and Randolph winning. So that would leave Roanoke fourth at 10-6 and the others all at 9-7.

So in a four-way tie, head-to-head results amongst the tied teams would have Ferrum winning at 3-2 for #5. Guilford finishes last at 2-3 for #8. Lynchburg and Hampden-Sydney are tied at 2-2, and Lynchburg won against H-SC so I believe that would make LC the #6 and H-SC the #7.

Roanoke with a big win over Lynchburg 81-44.  Lynchburg was missing a key player. If Roanoke wins on Saturday they could have a shot at the #4 spot in the ODAC tourney, pretty crazy when thinking about that loss at Emory and Henry a couple of weeks ago.  In other ODAC news:

Ferrum wins at Randolph 77-53

Hampden Sydney loses big at Randolph Macon 58-84

Shenandoah loses in a tight one at Virginia Wesleyan 71-75

EMU loses big at Washington and Lee 57-80

Assuming the ODAC Tournament is still 10 teams, what's nice heading into the final weekend is every team still has a chance to make it. Bridgewater has the leg up on #9 at 4-11, but the four remaining teams going for 10th are all tied at 3-12.

E&H and Shenandoah play each other, so whoever loses that game is out of the tournament. The winner of that one is probably getting in.

EMU plays at VWU, who all of a sudden looks extremely beatable by the bottom of the league, but VWU should win. However, they also shouldn't have lost at E&H and shouldn't have gone down to the final buzzer against Shenandoah.

Randolph goes to Roanoke, can't imagine Roanoke dropping that game with what's on the line for them and how they are playing lately.

It's going to be a great Saturday afternoon of basketball. I'll be watching the Roanoke game but I'll have my eye on that Guilford RMC match up.

GC- RMC WILL be a huge matchup! Just getting home from RMC and the Jackets shot the lights out and fed off of a crazy loud crowd in Crenshaw Gym and shot 53% on the night and 50% from 3pt land to rout the Tigers. Buzz Anthony is FOR REAL! A leader in every way and keeps the Jacket machine rolling! Have to watch out for a letdown the rest of the season, especially Saturday at Hasa's Quakers in Greensboro! Talking to the powers that be in RMC Athletics tonite it matters NOT what D3 Hoops or anyone else says- the only thing that matters in the NCAA's is our Regional Ranking and whether or not we can stay unbeaten the rest of the way !

I'm confused ... do you think we feel we choose the NCAA tournament teams and who hosts?

Also, I know a lot of the "powers that be" at RMC Athletics ... so your comments make me laugh. :)

WHAT ARE YOU CONFUSED ABOUT ??? ??? ??? ??? I made a statement about what our AD and some others involved in athletics told a bunch of us at a pregame reception who were asking how we could be ranked #2 Nationally and still be #2 in our region d-mac....and why does that make you laugh?? I wasn't in any way referring to  this board or anything connected with it as who chooses anything- it was simply an analogy from our people about what really matters in the selection process and how people can get caught up in rankings not supplied by the NCAA. They were also referring to the Massey ratings, which have us #1 and have for a while now. If what I said offended you I'm sorry- I was simply repeating what was told to us- that the ONLY thing that counts(for tournament seedings/hosting) is what the NCAA says- not what anyone else says. I certainly wasn't making a jab at this board or you personally.

I'm not really a basketball guy but after watching RMC smother the Generals, who probably are the best Generals team I've seen, I'm a believer. The rankings never matter, and being 2 has its own motivation advantages. The Regional Committee and the other polls might be doing RMC a favor. Carrying a chip on your shoulder has benefits.

Sure I hope my Generals can find a way to win the ODAC. I'd certainly love to see them in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1980. But other than those specific circumstances, it would be a treat to watch the Jackets take a long run at a National Title. To this casual observer it certainly seems plausible.

Pat Coleman

People get caught up in those rankings because:

1. They exist all season, rather than appearing in mid-February.
2. They're pretty accurate, regardless of where the regional rankings disagree.

I really appreciate, and expect everyone who posts here does as well, all the effort of those who do the hard work to keep this website going. I am grateful for those who post here and other places on these board. I am in awe of the people who do so much research to keep us informed about everything going on in D3 basketball including those who vote on the Top 25.

I think there are many R-MC supporters who only read the articles from the college's sports information department and see that the Jackets are ranked #1 overall by Massey, #2 nationally by D3hoops, and #2 regionally by the NCAA. These folks do not understand that these are separate sources with different ranking systems and methodologies. So it makes sense to me that some of those folks would have asked the Randolph-Macon athletics department why the apparent disparity in the rankings. From what rmc1982 posted it sounds to me like they received a proper explanation. Hopefully they understood that explanation.

Pat Coleman

They use Massey in their news releases? That's pretty rare.

Thank you Brother Y_jack_lok, for that analogy. It IS indeed confusing to some people, including me sometimes, and thanks to the dedicated people who run this board and this website for giving us insight we otherwise would not have. The group of us last night asking-most of them DO only see what we get from our SID or what they see in the newspaper....and the newspaper always quotes D3HOOPS. So to the ordinary fan it is confusing .I certainly wasn't trying to belittle anything that's done here- This board and website is the most comprehensive look at DIII sports regionally and nationally in the entire country and you all do a tremendous job keeping us informed! THANK YOU! If any of my comments sounded otherwise I apologize.
