Ryan's really high on Yeshiva...they've had a great season, but they're strength of schedule is really bad...if they beat Macon in Crenshaw, I'll be a believer.

Win or lose, I think seeing them in person has made just about anyone who has a believer.  I got to see them in person early this year and it changed my perspective.  That's the only reason I've been an advocate.  The eye test does indeed still have some value.

I'm not sure there's a single team left in the tournament who couldn't win the whole thing.  No result will be a surprise to me.

(Well, if Yeshiva wins by 30, that might be a surprise, but nothing else.)

In reading your piece about them, the 6'7" point guard that shoots really well from 3 does sound intriguing...if they can force Buzz into a less than average game, they'll have a chance.

2pm start on Friday could hurt our crowd, which the players feed off of. Saturday night it was deafening in the 2nd half and the players kept gesturing to the student section-where we were sitting- to keep it going and we did . You can't tell me that doesent make at least a little difference! Our calling card is defense so if you want to BE the best you have to BEAT the best, and this is the best, if not one of the best, offenses in the country! I sure Josh will be focusing on and sharpening our defense, especially on the perimeter! With all the stuff about this Coronavirus going around I hope we just play in front of our crowd !! Should be a tough test for our JACKETS!! Let's keep it rolling fellas!

The real danger for RMC would be getting into a scoring contest.  Halfcourt sets both ways will likely decide it, which is why it's an intriguing matchup.  I do think it comes down to defense and whether Yeshiva shows up on that end of the floor.  It's also why RMC is hosting and the favorites in this game.  I was just trying to communicate that I don't think it'll be lopsided.

You also have to plan for a vocal Yeshiva crowd that didn't get to attend last week's games grabbing every ticket they can get their hands on.

I understand about the time, given that a number of their players could be observant Jews and this time slot beats Shabbos and is the only one that would..... well 845 Saturday would also but I guess the NCAA saved that for more western teams.... but It would have been better for us!. Being in the jewelry business we have to do this with buying shows a lot ....  We HAVE to honor that..it's the right thing to do!

They better be quick.  The Yeshiva fans bought like 300 tickets from the public allotment within the first two hours.  They are as dedicated as it gets.

Just out of curiosity, anyone mind saying how much the tickets were?

The entire team observes the Sabbath - though not all wear yamakas during the game.

I think from the NCAA's perspective, the game really would have needed to be played at about 9:30. This past weekend was an 8:45 tip prior to Daylight Savings Time kicking in. Pushing everything back meant the tip would have been 9:30 at the earliest. I bet they felt that just was too late a game in general.

Just out of curiosity Dave I wonder what the NCAA will do if they win and play next weekend? Arent some games on Saturday during Shabbos?
This looks like this is setting up to be one heck of a ballgame! Great defense vs Great offense in a great venue! May be the game of the weekend!
