Congrats to RMC! An Impressive run for sure!

Thanks, CNU85.  While I think the RMC players were hoping for a rematch,  I was not looking forward to seeing CNU again.  RMC and CNU are the class of this region, and I see a long rivalry developing.

I hope to see a long standing rivalry. I love good basketball.  I received an email from someone we do business with here at work. He is a former RMC student athlete. He sent me a link to a news article about RMC winning the national championship. he said "CN who? I congratulated him and then mentioned RMC went 33-1 and asked him who dropped the"1" on them! haha.. I love the friendly bantering!

Wonder how long Macon will be able to fend off the D1 teams that are surely going to be calling for Merkel?

That's always possible, isn't it?

The general feeling among the alumni is that he stays.....at least for now. He's still young and has a young family and I think they genuinely like living in Ashland.it IS a very unique place.....feels like "Mayberry" with its small town charm but very close to the Richmond metroplex. I think with continued success we will eventually lose him because he's THAT GOOD of a coach and an even better person...... I just think he'll choose to stick around...at least another year.....at least we HOPE SO!! ???

Back in March former R-MC player Chris Gerlufsen was named head coach of D1 University of San Francisco: https://usfdons.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/coaches/chris-gerlufsen/935

I've heard that RMC has 8 basketball recruits coming this fall.  2 from VA, 2 from MD, 1 from PA, 1 from DC, 1 from NC, and one from GA.  A large class for RMC, as most incoming classes are about 4 or so.

I heard that as well. We probably listened to the same podcast.

R-MC 2022-23 schedule: https://rmcathletics.com/sports/mbkb/2022-23/schedule

Games against several 'Mary" teams -- Mary Baldwin, Mary Washington, and possibly Maryville. Missing is an opportunity to play Marymount.
