If you're HSC or GC and you don't win the ODAC tournament,  you surely hope that RMC wins the tournament.

I agree Macon.....If we dont win it, whoever does will get the other bid. I know we DESRVE 3 bids, but I'm not so sure the selection committee will concur. If we win it, the other finalist will probably get it IF its GC or HSC.......On another note, the Jackets home winning streak hit 60 last night! We havent lost since an OT loss to EMU in 2018.

Also of note, RMC is 61-2 in ODAC conference play over the last 5 years (undefeated in the last three seasons).  Those two losses were to GC, at Guilford.  (Just giving Hasa some ammo.)  Other than GC, a lot of ODAC players never beat RMC in their careers.  (Just waiting for some more smites.)

That's an incredible run. RMC has just been a basketball powerhouse and no one else has come close. Very impressive.

Wow talk about consistency. These last couple of weeks of the season will be interesting.  I don't see anyone not in the top 3 (HSC, RMC, and GC) getting close to beating them.  I'm hoping Roanoke can bring in some momentum as we have to win the ODAC to get into the post season.

RC had a pretty good win last night against Lynchburg.  Was a double digit game most of the game but Lynchburg came storming back at the end and got the game down to 3 within the last minute.  Roanoke held on to win 76-70.

Looks like it will take a fairly big upset for H-SC to not get the #2 seed.

1 game ahead of Guilford and have the h2h tiebreaker

So, at minimum, H-SC has to lose twice to fall off that two-seed line

Their remaining games are:
Shenandoah
At Ferrum
Lynchburg
at Washington and Lee

At worst I see them going 3-1 there with the one loss possibly being at W&L. Massey ratings gives H-SC a 94% chance at beating SU, 80% at Ferrum, 85% against Lynchburg, and 49% against W&L.

W&L can certainly score a ton of points, but it's plain to see they have struggled mightily in terms of offensive and defensive efficiency against the top 4 teams relative to what the Generals and those said teams have done for the rest of the season.

Probably doesn't matter - in a chalk ODAC tourney, the #3 seed will be playing the #2 seed in the semis on a neutral court.

^^^ This appears to assume that R-MC will win out, or lose no more than one of the next three games. After hosting Averett on Wednesday they have Roanoke at home on Sat. the 11th, then at Guilford on Sat. the 18th. A challenging closing stretch. I hope the extra time off after the Roanoke game helps rather than hurts.

H-SC on the precipice of just their third 20-win season in the post-Tony Shaver era. One of those seasons was the first season after Shaver left, a team that was carried by an exceptionally strong senior class

The Guilford fans are well aware that those two losses came in Ragan-Brown.  Adding to the excitement this year on Feb. 18, it will be a double header against RMC with the women playing at 2 pm and the men at 4:30 pm ... plus Guilford will honor the 1973 NAIA National Championship team on its 50th Anniversary.  There were three future NBA players on that team with M.L. Carr and Lloyd (World B.) Free still surviving and expected to attend.  For these reasons, as well as Senior Day, it will be very well attended.

RMC extremely lucky to have won last night in Crenshaw after losing for a lot of the game! Averett took away the 3 ball from the Jackets as they struggled the entire game just to get the score back tied. We just weren't moving the ball well but credit the Cougars for great defense ,also. We were clearly outplayed and were lucky to win against a team we beat by 38 pts a week or so ago. Hopefully we got the "bad game" out of our system last night and will come back strong against Roanoke in Crenshaw Saturday!

I saw that score last night and had to do a double take.  When you're the top dog you're going to get everyone's best shot and it seems that Averett gave it to them.

Roanoke got a good win yesterday at Shenandoah.  It was a close game until about the half way mark of the 2nd half. Roanoke would go on to win 82-66.  RC has a big game with RMC, if we could pull it out it would make ourselves look better for after tourney team selections.

Side note if RMC wins it gives them the D3 record for most consecutive home game wins........Hopefully that's added motivation for my Maroons.

Wow, what a nail-biter!  Some timely fouls and missed shots allowed the Jackets to survive.  Typical trap game, winning by 38 recently and with RC and GC upcoming, the Jackets may have been looking forward.  But, all credit goes to AU.  Need to refocus and move on.  GO JACKETS!!

Well, it will tie the record.

Never underestimate your opponent's desire and ability to win. If that's what was happening it was likely subconscious, which is what makes it a trap. A good lesson, though, which hopefully helps for the next two games and the ODAC tourney.
