GC 94 BC 90

30 made threes.

An amazing stat!

A couple of GC missed free throws late in the game nearly gave us a repeat of the W&L/Roanoke game.

I have faith that someday my Generals will break through to the NCAA tournament. They are working on a 42 year drought, by far the longest of any W&L team. But compared to my years at the school, where every win was a special occasion, being competitive sure is nice.

I think the HSC/GC winner gets a bid (if RMC wins today), and the loser goes home.  Big game...

I think you're right MACON....I certainly hope so! We, as a conference, deserve AT LEAST two bids!! Good Luck to all and I pray there are no injuries this evening!! GO JACKETS!!

H-SC is basically a lock at this point. They were ranked as the #11 overall seed just 9 days ago...

I watched lots of games yesterday and today. Mostly looking around for close games nearing conclusion. In so many of the games I found there were situations where the team with a small lead missed free throws to allow the trailing team a chance to tie, take a lead, or win. Most of the time the trailing team failed to prevail. Guilford was an exception. Congrats to the Quakers on hitting the three point buzzer beater to beat H-SC by one.

That was quite the collapse by H-SC. Up 16 with 5 minutes left. Proceeded to give up 30 points, miss 8 free throws, and commit four turnovers, commit four fouls while in the bonus/double bonus. For the game 15-24 on the foul line in a one-point loss. Shot themselves in the foot repeatedly in those last 5 minutes.

Combine this with the W&L loss and that likely costs them the chance to host first round.

This game will be added to Guilford basketball lore ... and there are many.

I'm sincerely hoping RMC, GC and HSC all get bids.

I was following another game last night in which one team had a 49-44 lead with 8:30 remaining and failed to score another point, losing 55-49. They called a timeout with no timeots left, resulting in a technical. Another bad collapse. No buzzer beater needed in that one.

WHAT???  HSC lost???  I turned the game off with HSC up 14 with 3:16 left.  I'll need to watch the end of the game.

[/quote] I'm not even sure they get a bid now, let alone host. I hope they do, but I would think it was 60/40 against , depending on if top seeds get upset and take Pool C bids....

^^^ I'll stick with my comment yesterday that the HSC/GC loser goes home.  With the disrespect for the ODAC in the regional rankings plus other conference upsets yesterday, I think there'll only be two bids for the ODAC.  Let's hope I'm wrong and we get three.

Watched the end of the game.  In addition to the missed FTs, there were two critical calls in the last minute, a jump ball call that went GCs way and a five second in bound violation by HSC.  Everything went GC's way...  Congrats, HASA!

Improbable to be sure.  Since Kimbrough played for Palombo and was his assistant, they know each other well.  Hoping today's game will be a good one.  i have to think this bolsters Guilford's NCAA chances.
