Apparently RMC isn't dead yet.

True. And Virginia Wesleyan isn't a top 25 team in my opinion. Both teams were playing without their leading scorers.

Solid win for the Jackets.  I continue to say that this RMC team will be inconsistent (ie starting lineup still in flux).  Playing within the ODAC this year will be a good thing for the Jackets and a bad thing.  Playing high quality teams such as HSC, GC, VWC and others will be tough, but also getting the opportunity to win over top teams will be good.

I dunno how "solid" it was but it was a W!! Played the best first half I've seen them play all year and then laid an egg in the 2nd. Only thing was VWU played WORSE! Macon I think you're right that it will be a season of ups and downs and it will be good for them to face the type of competition we face every day in the ODAC in Men's basketball! Josh will have them playing together better and looking more like a RMC team but it's gonna take time and we will see lots of ups and downs all year. By mid January to early February you will see a change for the better.

I think you're right, RMC will get better as the season progresses.   Will they be one of the top ODAC teams?  Not sure yet.  Another thought, Ferrum may be a surprise team this year.

I checked Ferrum's roster. They have seven players back from last season and nine new faces. Several of the new players are upperclassmen transfers. One, Jikari Johnson listed as a 6'4" guard, is their leading scorer at 21.5ppg and hitting on 63% of his three pointers. As a team they are 50% from the field and 41% from three - a stat aided by the insane percentage from Mr. Johnson.

Great interview on the Q-cast with Coaches Palombo of Guilford and Kimbrough of H-SC: https://youtu.be/QzlzNX5tJYs?si=nt6MG5Ra2wQcCUKm

When y'all's teams play W&L, be sure to try to guard Robert Disibio. Maryville wins 87-84 in OT but not because he missed any important shots.

ODAC teams know DiSibio well, so they will definitely try to guard him. Doesn't mean they will succeed.

Everyone is rightly focused on the RMC football team's playoff win today. Meanwhile, the hoops Jackets won at Randolph 71-52. Some new wrinkles in the offense with Daniel Mbangue making two of four 3-pt shots -- the first made 3s of his career. I think his only previous career 3-pt attempt came against VWU on Wednesday. Also, yet another different starting lineup as sophomore Amr Areikat started at guard in place of injured Jabril Robinson, and freshman Margad Choijilsuren, who has played in all pervious games (and started several), didn't play today. Hope he's okay.

In the game between top 25 teams, #2 H-SC at #11 Guilford, the Quakers never trailed and won 80-71.

Other ODAC game results: Ferrum over EMU, Bridgewater over Averett, SU over Roanoke, and VWU over Lynchburg.

W&L lost a non-conference game by 3 to Maryville (TN).

Maryville SID on Scots and W&L.

Good writeup. Nice to see an SID who writes a narrative article about a game. Having said that, I understand that SIDs have a lot on their plates and can't always do that -- as well as the fact that not all SIDs are trained writers.

John Painter is the best of the best.  He ran media for the Final Four last year (and hopefully again this year, as well).  A pro all the way.
