Thanks Pat, and any and all others who worked to restore these boards.

Quarterfinal round of the ODAC tournament is set after yesterday's wins by SU over U of L and Ferrum's win over BC.

R-MC vs SU
Roanoke vs W&L
H-SC vs Ferrum
Guilford vs VWU

As far as the NCAA tournament is concerned, the knowledgeable prognosticators project R-MC, H-SC and Guilford as locks for Pool C (at-large) bids even if none of them wins the ODAC tournament. If they are right, and someone else  emerges from Salem with the trophy, that would mean four ODAC teams in the NCAA tournament.

Thanks to Pat and his team for getting the board back online!

Had missed the board!  Glad it is back up and running.  Thanks to the staff at d3sports for all they do to promote and report on D3 athletics!

Jackets open up play in Salem vs Shenandoah at 1 pm, a team that took us to OT last week in Winchester. Local kid ( for me at least) Nic Doyle has done a good job with his Hornets and will be a force in the future! Lets not have a letdown Jackets!!!

'82, I can't tell you how often I've mentioned your Chesty Puller quote.  BTW, my wife is a member of the small church where General Puller is buried.  Back to basketball.  Interesting that the two previous games were so different, a 40 pointer and an OT game.  The D3Datacast spreadsheet gives the Jackets a 21-point win.  I don't think it'll be that big, I'm thinking more of a 10-12 point win.  Just need to stay focused.  GO JACKETS!

Huge win for Coach Rhoades and PSU last night.  Congrats Coach!

Massey Ratings projects RMC as a 22 point winner -- 73-51. Interestingly, the D3 Datacast projects the score as 72-51.

The difference in the margin of victory in the two previous games no doubt had a lot to do with who was playing at home. Now we have a neutral court, and the projected margin of victory essentially splits the difference between the two previous games. But I agree that it will be closer than 21 or 22 points.

Losing your All-ODAC Starting PG is never a good thing.

Jackets definitely looked a bit lost on offense in the first half without him. Also, the Jackets often seem to struggle against zone defenses. It's all about ball movement. Gotta make quick decisions and quick passes because the ball moves faster than the defenders can. That gets players open.

Well, the neutral court didn't do anything for RMC. That was almost a carbon copy of the game eight days ago at SU -- a three point win in OT for the Jackets -- by an almost identical score, 71-68 today vs 72-69 on the 14th.

An RMC loss would not have changed their NCAA chances. They were certainly going to get a Pool C bid, no matter how they fared in the ODAC tournament. But would a loss today have had an impact on their hosting chances???

Several other ranked teams in other conferences have already lost in their conference tournaments. It seems to come with the territory. Glad the Jackets avoided that fate today.

Survive and advance.  Amr and Vincent stepped up in Jabril's absence.  That's 24 points and 8 rebounds from two guys that have played sparingly lately.  Jabril looks to have a right hand injury.  Hopefully he's back soon.

I don't think so.  The Jackets would have to fall out of the top 16 from the current #2 slot.  Don't think a lost today would do that.  But, as you said, gladly the Jackets won.

Macon- you must be on the Northern Neck someplace, as Chesty was a "Northern Necker"! Sure do miss that Northern Neck Ginger ale too! It was my. " go to" with a bourbon lol! Yes my basketball frat brethren tell me Jabril got hurt in practice Wednesday and he has a " day to day" hand injury. I saw what looked like a brace or cast on it yesterday from the distant look I got but regardless, I wouldn't expect him until Sunday at the EARLIEST! Yes we had some kids step up but when we were down 5 with 1:32 left I thought we were DONE!! Good teams find a way to win!! BEWARE THE FISH!! The only path for them to get in is to win this and they took it to Hasa's Quakers last night!! Ladies play today and Jabril gets another day to recuperate! GO JACKETS!!

I think this win gets them in.  Remember they were already #4 in the region behind three teams that are locks, so VWU will get onto the Pool C board very early.  As such, I think this GC win is all they needed.  Actually, the D3DataCast guys have VWU at #3 today in the region.  They have a high SOS .594 and positive RRO of 5-4.  That will easily have the Fish in the Dance.

While I agree they DESERVE to be in I dont know if the NCAA Selection Committee will put 4 teams from a conference in UNLESS they win the tournament.I really hope I'm wrong but I don't think its as much of a lock as you think it is, Macon.
