yeah, I finally got both box scores from the other schools.... but I noticed in this afternoon's - no Ben Shrader?  Any word on what's up with his absence from today's game?

A couple of good games from Jackson.  Glad to see him get off to a good start...  I've lived through the stat sheets and box scores so far, but the lines from Peery are a welcome surprise from the freshman.... It would seem Lawler is playing well..... Jared Butler, business as usual for the most part... I'm withholding commenting on LaPorte, I don't think the opposition so far has really been too tough a challenge, but still.....

Wondering about Shrader though, hope everything's well.

LC loses 80-79 today. The offense was quite simply awesome based on what the box score says. Manos finishes with 33 points (12/21, 2/5 from 3, 7/9 from FT) and 11 rebounds in 30 minutes. He had 11 in the first half and 21 in the second half. Nice way to top LaPorte's 18 in a half! Andy Albright breaks the LC career steals record. Sweeney finishes with 19 (8/13, 3/7 from 3), and Prior finishes ith 14 (2/8, 10-11 from FT). The bad thing was rebounding; we got our butts kicked on the boards yet again. And our defense was either not good or LaGrange was lights out. Either way it hard to win when you allow the other team to shoot 54.5% overall and 42.1% from 3. I know you can't always measure the success of our defense simply on FG%, but you jsut can't look past 54.5% shooting. Seems like one game we'll play good defense and the offense won't be there to back it up or the offense will be there without the defense to pick it up. So far the only game where we've been able to play both solidly is the Averett game. Hopefully the overall solid games will start coming real soon. We've got two ODAC games coming up this week. Things need t start going well quick or it's going to be a pretty long season.

W&L gets handled easily by John Carroll 86-56.

Emory and Henry defeats Thomas More 150-110.  The Wasps force 41 turnovers.  Shavar Bland gets 25 and Lance Reasbeck gets 18.  They will most likely play Wooster tomorrow at 3.

Dustin Galyon is out of the EMU game with a high ankle sprain. It will be interesting to see how they do without him for however long. He doens't contribute much statistically, but he's a feisty kid tha tprovides some leadership.

Bridgewater wins...80-60. The Eagles won easily although they played sluggish throughout the first half. Hopefully they will pick up intensity when playing against better opponets. Tomorrow they face Greensboro, who are a very athletic team. Greensboro also lost to EMU tonight by 13.

P.S - I'm having an outstanding time hanging out with some BC alumni tonight  ;D

i figured BC would win. if they had lost, then BC would have some ginormous problems!

stillfamily

EMU won   Sager had a good night with 17pts and 13rebs... also parkes had 20, whiting 13, EJ had 11pts 10 rebs.. An okay night for the Royals, but they havent put a full half of bball together yet... they have some time to improve before the ODAC, and if this team puts together a full game they can beat anyone around.. Good Job on the Win Guys!!!!!! Lets get another one today......

maroons6thman,
Shrader has a sprained ankle.  I hope we'll him back for Wednesday ODAC opener against Eastern Mennonite.

Pat's outer page noted that the 150 points scored by Emory and Henry against Thomas More was a new ODAC record.  I was interested in the previous record so I checked the ODAC site.  The record book hasn't been updated for two seasons, but the previous high was 129.  I think the ODAC office better dust off the record book because it is likely the Wasps will put up numbers this season that re-write offensive and defensive records.

EMU beat a very athletic Greensboro team.  Stillfamily is correct,  EMU didn't really get things rolling until about 8 minutes left in the first half.  EMU let by as many as 15, but couldn't put Greensboro away.

EMU is going to need to be more consistent against ODAC teams but they have a chance to play with and beat every team in the ODAC.

I was able to attend roanoke's games this weekend being that I live twenty minutes away from goucher.  They moved to 5-0 as I expected after beating springfield by 2 in their first game and then subsequently playing four teams that are in a rebuilding process.  They did not look all that impressive this past weekend beating both teams by only 11 points in games that should have been won by 20+.  They have a huge week ahead with EMU, Wesleyan, and Macon at home to prove that they are a serious contender this year.  They need to take advantage of this part of the schedule because the second half of the schedule is ugly with a stretch of 6 out of 7 games on the road including Macon, Wesleyan, EMU, and Syndney, the top 4 teams in the ODAC, all on the road and the other 2 road games @E&H and @Lynchburg are never as easy as they seem.  Good luck to all as ODAC play starts and go noke.

Eastern Connecticut State defeats Washington and Lee, 72-66, in the consolation game of the Rochester Tournament.

Halftime @ Emory & Henry:

Wooster - 80
E&H - 43

Wooster has set a record for points in a half and is well on their way to breaking their single game scoring record of 133!

and1wasp

Wooster defeats E&H 150-101.  With the good comes the bad, especially in this style of play.  Wooster is a really smart team, handled the ball and rebounded very well.
